    This fella might be at his ceiling but he's what we need for this division. To us a goalscoring midfielder is of particular value at this moment.

    Sell Smallbone to Wrexham (for the reported £7.5m) - then this deal and our squad and options simply gets better.

    He "might" be. ln this price range, we're used to buying talent based on siezing a window of opportunity to get them with strong an eye to sell on potential. (Sekou, ABK, Lavia, Tino, Charlie, Bazunu etc) rather More situtional/necessity aquisition to fit the manager's system and specifically where we are now aiming, championship promotion.

    See what you mean. I thought you were suggesting he wouldn't step up to the PL if we did get promoted.

    He is a similar age to Lallana when he got promoted with us so I'd say we are buying at a great age.
