It’s not like we can sign a couple central midfielders like Bistrović on free transfers either. Acun ****ed us and the coach with this by acting like a spiv.
It's not a knee jerk reaction, I am being objective. He isn't fast, can't control the ball, not sure he can read the game and certainly can't read the bounce of the ball on todays showing. Yes he is strong and not easy to push off the ball but capable of committing fouls against clever players. League one I reckon.
I think a number of players have possibly played whilst effected by this bug? Several players below par, and not McCarthy.
Cantwell is a cheating diving ****. The referee killed any chance of the game being played competitively.
Many thanks...pop it on holiday thread so that it benefits others who might be interested. I was thinking Madeira but feel Cabo Verde must be just as interesting and winter-proof. It just isn't as easy to gauge without some real on the ground information. Really appreciate this.
It's true we are short of depths, at least now with Ajayi, Famewo, Hughes, Coyle, Crooks out. Our **** luck continues unabaited. And Belloumi, Millar and Matazo still out (yes, I know re Belloumi!!). Have even half of those back available and it looks a lot different. But there were still options. I wouldn't have started with McCarthy at CB. Too much too soon. Then, it was crystal clear it wasn't working yet he didn't make needed changes at HT. He has Williams sat on the bench. He could could have gone RB, with Drameh CB. Or to a back 3. McCarthy either off or to DCM where he looks a bit more comfortable and where we were getting bumfucked. Or put Williams in there. Akintola on earlier with Gelhardt central. Palmer to drop back deeper. There's all sorts of combination changes he could have made, important point ... when it was so obvious it wasn't working at CB, in midfield, in service to attack, bit instead he did nothing and bang, 3-0 down. Even then we huffed and puffed but didn't get a grip on the game, with eventual changes coming far too late. I guess it's a learning process for him (and his assistants) too, but I was expecting better from him. All that said, hopefully we get this DM in quick, and maybe 1 or 2 more if we can move Furlong and 1 or 2 other fringe players out on loan or whatever.
I thought they'd said concussion? Also somebody posted, mischievously I hope, that he was for the off. If that were the case and the squad know this it could explain today's ****ty performance.
Oh what a difference a week makes Last weekend Fri - Rovers win Sat - FC win Sun - City win This weekend Thur - Rovers lost Fri - FC lost Sat City lost
Depends what you are looking for. If it's mainly a beach holiday then Cape Verde. If you want climate plus stunning scenery, great walks, history, culture, sights, etc then Madeira is a gem. #wrongthread
Few people suggesting putting Palmer further back but I wouldn't want him anywhere near that position, he's so loose with his distribution and loses the ball too often, his best position is further up the pitch, then his mistake don't cost us as much. I think we have to accept that without the likes of Crooks, Hughes and those returning from.long term injury we are buggered for the time being.
Bit of positive news is that both Sheffield clubs are getting beat and our draw at Coventry is looking increasingly impressive.
Giles defensively had a shocker but put some decent balls in the first half. McCarthy grew into the game but did make some rookie mistakes. Slater ran around and pointed a lot but not much else. Palmer had some moments but they were fleeting. Why did the Manager refer to Gelhardt being played out of position as a winger last season and then plays him in exactly the same role. **** knows why the Manager thought Stewart was the answer at 3 nil down.
