It might be the large amount of alcohol I've consumed tonight, but I've never been prouder of my ****ing home town than I am tonight. The city centre round Keel Square, the Keel Edge and City Hall looked class, packed out, the atmosphere was brilliant, friendly with people mixing from all over. Walking over the new bridge, the Sheepfolds Stables were brilliant and the area around is looking really good and will only get better when the housing development starts. The SOL looked beautiful, though it was weird seeing Rugby posts up instead of football posts! The atmosphere for the women's rugby was top class and over 42,700 people there. Walking back over the bridge to Keel Square and the views of the new buildings looked stunning at night and actually made me think I was in another city. It shows what Sunderland CAN BE and will be if people get behind the proposals instead of knocking them.
Was trying to get some earlish shut-eye and those sonic boom fireworks went off ! Not sure I have heard lounder in Sunderland ever. Must have been a good 20-30 mins worth too. Thought Putin was beginning the assault at one point !
The wife said I wonder if it's at the stadium for the rugby I said don't be silly no way we would see or hear them from our house - hastings hill Very wrong
Great photos. He's very good. Ive got a couple of his from the play offs hanging in my man cave. Great to be associated with the city.
