I feel like we haven’t really spoken about the fact that Richarlison was supposedly included as part of an Eze deal that’s no longer happening.
CAA Base/Stellar are supposedly our tame agents of choice. Yet, they have overseen a failed transfer where they and their client appear to have failed to disclose that the release clause was a secret. On top of that 'mishap', we seem to have been led on to spend considerable time and effort in pursuing a player who was, seemingly, always intending to go elsewhere...elsewhere being 'them', our local rivals. WHAT THE **** IS GOING ON????? Who is managing this relationship...and what the actual **** have they been doing with their time? PS can pass this off as, "these things happen"...but they happen to us far, far too often and they shouldn’t happen twice in quick succession with such a close contact. Whoever has been handling these prospective transfers/managing the relationship with CAA wants their arse handing to them. It's more bloody amateur than Trotters Independent Traders.
I wonder if it was true that we tried to bolster the Eze deal with Richarlison going to Palace ,now it's gone tits up we have no Eze and Richarlison must feel pissed that we wanted to flog him off to Palace, all in all this has been a major f**k up by the club
People losing it over a transfer that didn’t go through which isn’t even our fault. Stuff him, if he prefers Arsenal then that’s up to him. Him and palace were clearly stalling with all the talk of a replacement and having him play in their game tonight hoping for this outcome being that we’d already agreed a fee and personal terms. We move on. We’ve still got a very good team and although Eze would have been nice, there’ll be other players. We’ve had two good performances in two games this season so far so plenty to be positive about.
We're in this weird spot where people are demanding that we should have acted earlier, but also pulled out when they started stalling Which does provide basis for an interesting thought experiment: say we moved two weeks earlier and Palace again stalled citing the Community Shield instead, is that moving early enough - and, if it is, should we also pull out if they start taking the piss and/or the whole forgetting to mention they already had an agreement in principle with Arsenal three weeks ago?
I find myself agreeing with the reply to this..... If you take the emotion out, we'll probably find these are the facts. Palace were stalling with intent. Eze was stalling with intent. Nothing to do with Levy or how slow/crap he is. It does further explain why Ange only wanted players who wanted Spurs. We still have a lot to look forward to, provided the window improves.
I'm prepared to give Levy the benefit of the doubt here. I think Ange said that he only wants players here that are fully bought in and Eze always had us as a backup. Besides he is inconsistent. The better player was Olise, don't suppose he wants to come back to the EPL?
I generally try not to get involved in transfer debates, at least until a player comes in, but for what it's worth I will make a comment. The problem with PL football is that it is both a business and a sport. We have team owners who are in it for different reasons i.e. some for prestige, some for money, States for sports washing, some even for love of their team. Spurs, as you will know, were the first sports club in the world to become a public company offering shares to the public. We have a chairman who is both part owner and a fan. ENIC the majority owners are in it as an investment with no particular love for Tottenham. Once agents became involved in the 90s transfers became a much more public operation. Speculation became weaponised, mostly by agents who of course always make big money when players are transferred. Us fans are now the collateral damage as the media/agents/owners/players make hay and money. There is no way of knowing how much we hear is true or just fuel being added to the mix of the negotiations. I know all this but I still get sucked in and my hopes raised and most of the time dashed against the reality of the sports business. I'm annoyed with myself for still getting emotionally involved in the BUSINESS of transfers when I am here as a sports fan. I look forward to the window closing and Spurs will be who they are and we just get on with the business of watching football.
"Arsenal have a long-standing interest in Eze, who was previously on the books of their academy and has said he was a supporter of the club growing up." Whether or not our club ****ed up these negotiations, for me the statement above almost in itself says the right outcome was achieved. Time to move on and identify someone else we can fail to sign!
Los Ladrones have a 50% sell-on clause, plus a buyback clause of absolute peanuts activates next summer We'd basically need a Paratici Special of a loan with an obligation to get around that
Although it's a farcical situation I don't feel that bothered in all honesty. You always got the feeling that as it dragged on and on he never really had the heart to be here. Anyway it may be fake news but apparently this has appeared at the Emirates....
Procrastinating costs us again please log in to view this image Embarassing Levy will always be a prick
Why chase a back up all the way to the point of embarrassment rejection? Why not act like the factor that is in control of this situation? You’re pissin about we are moving on…I will give you LvPL as an example Ok no Isak, Toon playing games, we will take Ekiteke That gets my respect…this though? typical Levy, no real intentions some of us deserve credit for calling this the ‘we tried’ transfer and bang to rights we were because we have seen this time and time again
