Well, not a very high scoring round again overall. Exeter, Huddersfield and Stockport let us down although Stevenage and Wigan delivered the goods. Given that fact, there were some decent results for a few: Away, Lyndhurst and SMH all got into double digits at least. Lyndhurst again topped the match score points and I think if this was a horse race there would be a doping enquiry. Away in BC was closest to the Goal Time though and those 3 points made him the overall winner. He also got the Lincoln v Argyle scores right but unfortunately in the wrong order. The Top Three are all in the 30's after just 3 games played with Lyndhurst on 36. SMH was the only one in the 30's after 3 games last season, and then only just on 31. A good start for some...... To repeat myself: match text for the next round, kicking off at 19:45 on Tuesday 19th August. AFC Wimbledon - Cardiff City Huddersfield Town - Doncaster Rovers Luton Town - Wigan Athletic Mansfield Town - Blackpool Northampton Town - Lincoln City Peterborough United - Barnsley Plymouth Argyle - Leyton Orient Port Vale - Stevenage Rotherham United - Burton Albion Stockport County - Bradford City Wycombe Wanderers - Exeter City Bolton Wanderers - Reading

I see that Tuesday's Rotherham v Burton has been postponed by the EFL because Burton have instead to play an Carabao Cup game that was abandoned due to an electrical failure. https://www.themillers.co.uk/news/2025/august/13/burton-albion-fixture-postponed-/ I haven't checked through all the forecasts yet but if you've put a joker on that game you should move it.
This is where we are this grey and wet morning in Plymouth. Pitch will be slick as will the campsite my daughter is off to on Thursday. Typical. Nothing from SMH yet, Rotherham v Burton postponed and Peterborough v Barnsley score missing from Joe's forecast. Huddersfield and Bolton are our strong favourites for wins, both at home, but unusually 7 of the 8 who have forecasts in at the moment are going for a draw between AFC Wimbledon and Cardiff City. Obviously draws do happen, but if you go for a win, it's still a win whether it's 1-0 or 10-0. We will see. There are two jokers on Bolton to win but the rest are spread out as singletons. Given recent results, nobody expects Argyle to reach half-time without a goal at one end or the other, which blocks out the "45 Minute Ploy". We've got a new CB now though so anything could happen and probably will. Where did that phrase come from? Was it a Colemanball? Answers on a post-card but no extra points. Remember, "This evening is a very different evening from the morning we had this morning."
AI Overview In the English Premier League, a little over one in five matches, or approximately 22.1%, end in a draw, according to football betting articles. This means that in a typical season with 380 games, around 84 matches will finish with the score tied. While this percentage can fluctuate from season to season, it generally remains around this level. Here's a more detailed breakdown: Overall Percentage: The draw percentage in the Premier League is around 22.1%. Season Variation: The percentage can vary from season to season, with some seasons seeing a lower percentage of draws (e.g., 18.7% in 2018/19) and others potentially a slightly higher one. Game Dynamics: While a draw might seem common when placing bets, it's important to remember that the actual percentage is relatively low, meaning that only a small number of games will actually end in a tie. Factors Influencing Draws: Some factors that can influence the number of draws include the strength of the teams playing, the stakes of the match, and the overall playing style of the teams. For example, matches between top teams might have a lower draw rate due to the higher stakes and the potential for more cautious play.

Yesterday's game made no difference. We all had Bolton down for a home win but Reading held them to a 1-1 draw with an 84th minute equaliser after only 35.6% possession and just one other shot on target apart from their goal. Away in BC was top scorer with 13 and was the only one to break into double figures. SMH got the goal time with a 33rd minute forecast against 63 minutes actual as Argyle at least managed not to concede in the first half for the first time this season. Fat lot of good that did us. The next lot of fixtures are set out above: some of you are already in, thanks for that and good luck.

As of now, 10:50 on Thursday 21st August, I have forecasts in for: Away In BC Joe Plym If anyone else has submitted and I haven't found, please let me know.
All done Plym. I have some money stuff to do: amazingly, the end of the month is nearly here. Where did that month go? Then the much trickier problem of doing my own forecast!
