If the Arsenal rumours are true then it’s clear we’ve been used, Palace drawing it out to suit Eze and his agent while they await a bid from Arsenal who now know what the price is.
Apparently, we've offered better payment terms and slightly more up front. Gotta be honest though. If Havertz doesn't get that knee injury, I don't think this move happens. Which is worrying in itself, as we needed a player like Eze even if Havertz hadn't got injured. This sort of move should have been happening regardless. It also shows that we clearly do have money to spend without needing outgoings first (contrary to recent reports). But whatever. Just hope we can get it done now.
in a way, that’s the ultimate prank from a supposed Arsenal fan. Reel in your rival, say nothing, then sign for your boyhood club. Eze’s had a blinder if this is the case.
It could be worse. He could have got a call from Arteta whilst he was doing his medical at Tottenham.
Ali gold is saying that we’d agreed terms with palace, and personal terms with Eze. He was ready to come to us, but Arsenal came in this afternoon and he’s chosen Arsenal. Weeks spent on a deal, but Arsenal get him in less than a day. he has also said (and I think this sums things up perfectly) “A window that should have delivered so much more than it has by this point. Plenty of talk but Thomas Frank's squad just isn't strong enough at this point. It's also another public embarrassment in the market. Spurs need to react strongly for Frank's sake as much as the fans.” (….. but we won’t.) coys, Daniel.
I came to the same conclusion ages ago, albeit from a completely different angle. Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if Levy has convinced himself that last season we *basically* had a good enough squad to compete on four fronts, the only real problem was Ange's methods. So, says his teeny tiny football brain, all I need to do is change the manager for the most pragmatic one in the league, and hi diddly dee, we'll be fine. No strengthening needed.
True! maybe Eze will feel competition for places is too challenging in this current Arsenal team, and there’ll be another plot twist!
this 100%. And to an extent, it’s true. But **** me… how can you also not look at this lot and not thing it’s still needs major improvement?! We finished 17th!!!
Eagerly awaiting the “Daniel levy did everything he could, but Eze always wanted Arsenal” positive PR spin story. Coming to a range of social media apps soon!
I suspect that all along what it was all about. Well known he's a big Arsenal fan so no surprise for me as it's taken way too long even by Daniel's standards. We have been royally played... It's so naive it's quite funny really...
If Eze has chosen Woolwich over us, then fack him, I don`t want Woolwich fans playing for Spurs, we had enough of that with Barren Dent. Levy out.
You do have to laugh really, it was so obvious this would happen. Wouldn’t even be surprised if Arsenal were in on it as well. We need couple of big signings before the window closes or it will be uproar. I can see us going for Wissa now for sure
it’s genius, if true. but it’s far from funny. If we’d have actually used the window to strengthen in key areas already, and Eze was the icing on the cake, fair enough. But it’s been a total disaster of a window, where we’ve basically told every football club in world football that we’ve got £120m to spend (Eze + Savinho), so we’re now going to either: a) get ripped off to the tune of about £40m with a panic buy B) not take any financial risks, and waste £25m on another unproven player to add to the collection C) scramble around on deadline day D) all of the above

We came 2nd in a 1 horse race. A new low... ...but think of the wage savings when we sign N'odamn-Good from some French club.
