Arguing over the minutiae of the deal has cost us big style, no one to blame but Levy he told Neville this is where he gets involved and he has ****ed this up totally, not only do we miss out on the player but he joins them.
We've been here so many times before it barely registers a flicker of emotion anymore. Our transfer business under Sugar was infinitely more exciting and dare I say it (relatively speaking) ambitious than it is under Levy, which is staggering.
If Wissa was genuinely a target, we'd have had that done already. I don't think he is. Given the way he's treated Brentford, I'd still well clear now anyway. Not a fan. Can't believe they've rejected a bid for £40m from you.
This is an important chapter for us. Complete clear out at executive level and a new CEO means there's only really one voice left in the room who has been there since the beginning. And it is therefore becoming clearer by the week that this voice was the problem all along.
Yesterday we’d apparently agreed a fee with Palace though so no fault of the club there and who knows which of these ‘in the knows’ bollocks that gets written once then copied and pasted everywhere is correct anyway? If he prefers Arsenal, screw him. Move on and get someone else.
I have said in countless posts, that, having signed Kudus, I don’t see us spending about £50-60m on another player, let alone 2. Savinho breaking down wasn’t surprising in the slightest, and here we are with Eze. I’m convinced it’s deliberate. Time and time again. Just like all of the positive PR we conveniently saw regarding investment into the club a couple of months ago, and when there were planned protests a week or so ago. perfectly planned. we’ve had months to do proper (and much needed) transfer business. The season has started and all we’ve got to show for it in terms of 1st team improvement is Kudus. we have spent weeks and weeks doing nothing. **** me, we can’t even sell anyone. And we all know how this ends. Panic buys over the next week or two. Square pegs in round holes “on the cheap”. The next “N’****e” from the French conference league. it’s all too predictable. Absolute shambles.
He's supposedly an Arsenal fan, so there's that. But then there is also the salient point which is this: If we expect to ever compete with and then overtake the five PL teams who are bigger and/or more successful than we are, this means that on the very rare occasion we manage to attract a player who is good enough to be of interest to any of those five clubs, it is imperative that WE ****ING ACT QUICKLY AND GET THE DEAL DONE BEFORE ONE OF THOSE FIVE ****ING CLUBS WAKES UP AND DECIDES THAT THEY NEED THE PLAYER TOO. COYS, Daniel
Funny how there’s no mention of palace needing a replacement or Eze playing in their game tomorrow now Arsenal are supposedly involved!
We can’t totally control how long a transfer takes though. We agreed a fee a few days ago apparently but palace drew it out (with Eze and his agent hoping to draw Arsenal out maybe?). If negotiations take a while then what can you do? Nothing’s done yet though. People are quick to jump on the negative rumours.
Not sure where you've read that. Everyone I follow was saying we hadn't yet agreed a few and that Palace weren't happy with the payment schedules. Cue Romano now reporting that Arsenal have offered slightly more than we did, with add-ons that are easier to trigger and a quicker payment schedule. Once again, Daniel proves himself to be penny wise, pound foolish.
Liverpool have not managed to sign Guehi either. It's obvious Palace wanted to retain them both until their ECL play off.
Most of our deals seem to drag on and on. I don’t know whether it’s incompetence, penny pinching, or both. But unless something drastically changes in the next couple of weeks (which I highly doubt), we’re going to have a tough season. Our depth is really poor. Lots of games and/or injuries, and Frank’s going to need to be a miracle worker.
Yeah, Levy ****ed up. Again. Should have just gone with top terms in Crystal Palace's favour and sealed the deal early. I imagine that Eze was holding out in any case and would have found a way to stall, just incase, but at least make it a fear fight by offering the best terms to absolve yourself of blame. Now you just look stupid again, especially after that Overlap "We will back our manager" spiel. Oh dear.... What a mess Daniel. Defeat snatched from the jaws of victory. The game is about glory. Well at least he can say it is a glorious mess. Which one of us didn't see the possibility of this coming? Banter club, all season. Here we go again.
I read that fee agreed and just needed to sort terms of it but palace wanted progress on a replacement before signing off. The fact that earlier we were apparently giving them richarlison as well indicates none of these people have a clue.
I read a rumour that Paratici was also trying to help them finalise the deal their replacement. Such a ****show of a situation.
