How in the entire of Europe with all the talent, and with over two years of scouting, 8 weeks or so since Wilson left and almost four weeks after we had a £40m bid for Wissa rejected are we only now, a few days before Liverpool, going back with another bid of about the same they're going to refuse for the same player?! Are we going to release a "it's only ever been Wissa" tweet?
The bid is about right for me and I like the idea for Wissa. But Brentford quite rightly should do what we are doing to Liverpool as they value him upwards of 50m. We look like hypocrites here.
Why do we? We are actively bidding for a player whereas Liverpool are playing media games in regards to we will only bid if we get encouragement from Newcastle. I mean what in **** does that even mean. If Liverpool want Isak then start placing proper bids instead of this media ****. If they came back with £130m soon after their £110m then it might have been done then but this media circus for me just puts the price up. Get Wissa or Jackson in then ignore Isak, let him rot till Janaury and see if anyone wants him then for the price we want. If not then get another Striker in Jan and let him rot till Summer
Still find this bid and then refusal set up really weird. I mean news of bid and then refusal was all done in about an hour. Why is this played out like this? Why arent Newcastle and Brentford on a call discussing and negotiating a price. Why is it it bid and wait? This all just seems to be a contrived situation.
It's crazy. You'd think these things would be settled with a conversation to negotiate, followed by a formal written bid which is then just a confirmation of an official offer (that has already been agreed to verbally).
We are actively bidding well below what they have asked for which is upwards of 50m. We are doing to Brentford what Liverpool are doing to us. Low balling them.
No. Liverpool aren't bidding at all. They have low balled one ludicrous offer of £110M and then made no further bids nor have they tried to negotiate. They have sat back and fed the social media frenzy to unsettle Isak with the aim of reducing the price payable. Not what we are doing at all.
They said they would come back if they thought there was an opportunity. But in reality they just don’t want to pay 150m. Just like we don’t want to pay 50m plus. Maybe we are not doing the media rubbish but then Liverpool would deny they had any involvement in it.
He does appear to be that way yes but Rowe must have had some input or he wouldn’t be transfer listed. He’s a left winger anyways.
Regardless of anything else, Liverpool have had a pathetic offer rejected. They have not said that that was an end to their interest given they are £40M under what is considered generally not to be a too OTT asking price. They have deliberately done this to be sitting inn the background as a temptation and as a disruption. Combine that with the social media frenzy which they will definitely be involved with. Isak hasn't gone on strike because he thought of it. He wouldn't do it if he didn't believe Liverpool were still interested. He's doing it because Liverpool want the price down and they have no power to negotiate that. Therefore they get the player to agitate and disrupt to achieve this.
It’s **** tactics I agree and I don’t doubt that’s what they are doing. It’s gone to far for me and I’m actually bored of it. The Isak situation. I just want a striker and to watch us hopefully win many games. Isak is dead to me (my opinion) so I don’t want to see him in the shirt again. Dare I say it would piss me off.
Right, am I hearing right that Boniface is available right now, loan with £30m option, and we're ****ing about with Wissa? Just to add - Spurs offering Richarlison and cash for Eze, then going for Wissa.
