Surprise surprise Rory Jennings is doing a live video off the back of this. If there is anything negative surrounding nufc that c u next tuesday is sure to be all over it.
He was told stuff about the club knowing Isak's desire to leave before the season ended. Isak's statement, even if vague, suggests this is true. Either way he's not being reintegrated, that's the end of that, so we need a striker miracle at this point.
That statement from the snake implies that Eddie Howe is a liar. The club now needs to come out all guns blazing against this cnut
A player desires to leave half way through his 6 year contract. Club say okay if we can sort out replacement and get right price. Shock, horror.
And then the club that supposedly wants him, go and buy the very striker we are trying to sign as his replacement.
I think the biggest question is why Liverpool chose to gazump us on Ekitike. It all looked like it was lined up, Ekitike finally at Newcastle, takes the 9, Isak goes to Liverpool, job done. But out of nowhere Liverpool decided to court Ekitike and have completely destabilised Newcastle and also left Isak in limbo. Of course, Isak should have realised all of this and gone straight back into Newcastle training knowing there was no chance of leaving - now we're stuck in the most ridiculous mess.
To be fair, we did need more than just Isak. Hence why still trying to buy him despite having Ekitike. Lost Nunez Diaz and Jota so really only have gakpo Ekitike Salah with Chiesa who most thought would also be gone and nothing behind that. You did also try and get Pedro and Sesko so not like was only Ekitike and no one else.
Look, I think Liverpool have played it well, regardless of what happens now with Isak. They either get him as well, or have unsettled him at NUFC, or he goes elsewhere (likely to a foreign league). Either way, they have improved and we are weaker. It's business. Our owners now need to show they have some balls.
Care to explain how you are still trying to buy Isak? You don't have any offer on the table. Unless, you accept that Liverpool are tapping Isak up and getting him to agitate for a move to reduce the price and that constitutes Liverpool trying to buy Isak.
By most accounts (and can only make assumptions based on what is reported etc) it sounds like Liverpool are waiting for Newcastle to buy a replacement before putting in a new bid. So still actively wanting him. Was no chance you put in a bid of 110m get rejected and walk away with no more interest. Would make any sense as no one accepts the first bid made. That was likely an official, we are interested here is a formal bid. Once rejected we’ll come back and talk more
