To be fair, he was probably negotiating another dozen transfers based on what his current lot were serving up. They were dire.
What a terrible super Sunday. Don’t feel so bad now that I spent the afternoon in the pub only paying half attention to football
Did anyone see Big Match Revisited today? 1975 Pat Jennings keeping out high flying QPR. Showed him intercept a cross by catching it one handed. I recall him doing that, but incredible to see it again.
I thought you deserved something from the game, Mbuemo and Cunha will cause other teams a lot of problems. Goalkeepers were the difference today swap them round and you win.Unfortunately I think the goons will get better and will be delighted to have taken the points home today without being at their best.
I thought the Arsenal goal was iffy. Arsenal player definitely backing into the keeper. That's not allowed, surely.
Yeah, two very debatable penalty decisions, too. Years of bullshit Old Trafford bias overturned, apparently. Arteta's crying is clearly working.
Tricky one. He wouldn't have stopped the ball if he didn't have his arm by his side and it was a shot from a distance so he didn't have to move towards it, so on balance I think it was correct.
I would be annoyed if it was given against us. It's one of those I can see why it was given by the on field referee and it was never going to deemed a clear and obvious error by VAR, and that would have been the same if it hadn't been given. Harsh in my opinion.
Arsenal have apparently given Trossard a pay rise to £250k pw. His contract length is unaltered and expires in 2027. He's 30.
And then people at the club will complain that we can't shift him next Summer. This reputation we have for being 'bad sellers' is all self-inflicted. Because we do dumb **** like this. I actually can't believe we've done this. Not only is it unnecessary, it has absolutely zero benefit to us whatsoever. Trossard's been a good servant to the club, and he's contributed his fair share. For £26m, he's been a very good signing. But it was time for him to go. It wasn't time to give him a pay rise that will prolong his stay at the club. I think there's an argument to be made that you guys have better and more dynamic attackers than we do. Pathetic and lazy squad building that will get us nowhere closer to winning the title. Or any title for that matter.
If anyone is desperate to watch Eze play soon, there's plenty of tickets for Palace tomorrow. First ever proper European game and their famous support seems a little short, for some reason. Genuinely no idea why. £29 and it's half that for kids and pensioners.
The BBC has obtained the rights to show one Bundesliga game per week: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cgjyzgj3xjwo It's the Friday night game and starts with Bayern at home against Leipzig.
Jim Ratfink has decided that it's a really good idea to try and counter-sue us because he walked out on a sponsorship deal without any form of agreement Stretford's a little far away for our car park, isn't it...?
Eze is a perfect fit for Spurs - especially with Maddison injured. But I’m not sure how he fits into the Arsenal team, unless he plays off the left in place of Martinelli, which is not the best way to utilise his skills.
If Eze comes to Arsenal, he becomes our best creative midfielder and best left winger. He may not be a 'natural' left winger, but he's played on the left before and his qualities exceed what I've had to watch from Martinelli and Trossard. He can even play at LCM. Truthfully, I'm not sure where we'll be playing him or whether he has a 'fixed' position, but he has qualities that no-one in our squad has and adds an extra dimension to how we attack.
