To be fair Mad-Eye Moody was great when they brought him in as new GK for the Hogwarts Staff XI .

The fans had been giving the old GK all sorts of abuse, generally calling him Professor Fumble-more

The lad has done well so far but I don't recall him having to save many of the type of shots he was letting in 2 years ago ie power shots sort of half way up the goal and not exactly in the corner.

If we are including pre-season, he has made some excellent saves including shots like this.

I never watched any pre-season games, fair play if he played well then.

I'd say the one against Wrexham was exactly the type of shot he was letting in before - down low to his left.

I'll be delighted if he plays well all season and ends up being a key player, still early days though.

Well the options are Bazunu, McCarthy or Moody at present. Some will prefer McCarthy some will prefer Bazunu, nobody would prefer Moody. If we don’t sign a new keeper then those are the options and, so far, Still clearly prefers Bazunu.

You’re criticising him for letting in a decent pen?

    Flummoxed

    Baz
Suga THB Jack Manning or Welly
    Downes Matheus Charles
    Adarma Stewart or Downs Robinson

    That’ll do for me

Not to speak for Tom, but pretty sure he’s saying the game winning save he made at 0-1 down towards the end of the game is a save he wouldn’t have made two seasons ago for us.

Tom was describing the save he made, not the pen.

After two games give Baz a chance! Is he better than Rambo.... No! Donarumma would be the worst keeper in the world with all the mistakes by our defence under Martin. I am not saying he is the best goalie in the world, but the best goalies only need to make a couple of saves each half and lucky penalty stops.

Exactly this. Now obviously I'm biased towards Baz but even looking at this objectively I just cannot understand the hate he gets. He came to Saints having only played in League 1 with the fish ****ers. The brilliant and inspiring leadership at SR thought it'd be a top idea to drop him into a PL team which was ****ing **** in the first place.

We unsurprisingly go down and he's asked to play in a system totally alien which involves some incredibly risky tactics of knocking it around our back 4 leading to some hideous mistakes. How is it on Baz that we asked Jack Stephens and Bednarek to turn in to bloody Maldini and yet criticise him when those suicide tactics result in goals?

He's very young for a keeper and would have been much better used as an understudy to Mccarthy with a few cup games for the first couple of years, but no. We threw him in the deep end with an arrogant twat like Martin refusing to give anyone a life jacket.

He's already helped win us 3 points this season again behind a really dodgy defence. Its bizarre people are on his back.

Even accounting for the awful defending he was a terrible keeper. The stats were awful. It was widely acknowledged that McCarthy coming in was a big factor in winning the playoffs.

Lets not re-write history and pretend he was a great keeper playing in front of a bad defense.

That would make him a really bad keeper

We have no idea if we would have won / lost the play offs with Baz. It’s just your opinion so it’s not rewriting history

Don't get me wrong, I'm not claiming he's a prime Shilton/Niemi but I think his part to play in us being ****ing awful is small compared with the tactics and defence.

I'd argue that Mccarthy forced a tactical change from Russ stopping us pissing about at the back and actually starting to clear it. The tactics against WBA and Leeds were nothing like we played the rest of the season.

I think he's entitled to at least one more chance. Besides we don't have the money for a new keeper and as everyone with even half a brain knows, absolutely everything is SR'S fault <cheers>

Fancy a bit of a change
    Baz
    Bree Jack, THB, Manning
    Frazer Alcaraz Charles robinson
    stewart Downs

Would eventually see quarshie replace Jack but think he needs to build up to it following the last few games

Downs missed a shocker, but he is getting in the right positions and think he just needs a goal or two to settle.

    **Meant Fernandes not Alcaraz**
