Cheers Dave. This is the closest away game to where I live, but putting the ground in the middle of nowhere, with virtually no public transport, no decent places to drink within miles and charging £20 to park is a powerful disincentive, so I’m not going. Birmingham, WBA and Leicester are much further in distance but infinitely more fun. We shouldn’t have a chance in this one, so we’ll probably do ok.
The big Spoons in the centre is quite pleasant and run by a QPR fan. The something Standard. Flying Standard? Royal Standard? Standard Standard? Anyway I’m sacking it off this year. Had considered going via Leamington for a change of scenery.
Flying Standard. Then you have to get on a bus with a load of locals to get to the Tescos, sorry stadium. Last year I got the train from Leamington which was fine, but one an hour and impossible to get on one coming back. Ended up a £50 taxi ride.
We just got an Uber last time. The football peasant wagon is a step too far having saved a small fortune in Spoons.

Some good memories at Cov (I think my dad left me at home for the Eoin Jess game, probably for the best). Winning in the last minute as Santos bundled one in half a yard over the line the last time I think we played at Highfield Road. A proper ground before this Ikea monstrosity vaguely in Coventry they’re in now. Adomah getting the winner in another 2-1 which we didn’t deserve in a run of games where we often won in games we really deserved to draw and it seemed we were set for big things. It went to **** very soon after. A crap QPR team’s resurgence under John Gregory as the mighty Jimmy Smith scored there for I think a 1-0 win with a home attendance of about 583. Chair’s delightful goal in a meaningless last day game two seasons ago. Some stinkers too, not least the very first league game at the stadium.
