Bentancur is rumoured to be next up and he could be equally as valuable, if he can stay fit. He was very impressive against PSG and he could form a solid partnership with Palhinha.
Yeah under Frank he could be very useful. The club needs as many players as possible to be there for a while. Other than Ben Davies, there isnt many.
He’s a quality player, took him a while to get over the ACL but from the KO stages to the final of Europa he was one of, if not our best player in that phase. Pre-ACL I think he may have beaten Kane to our POTY that season. Definitely hope we can tie him to a new deal, think he’ll be a huge player under Frank.
Scarlett and Devine both had first team appearances before Gill was signed, which gives them seniority
It’s shows how Spurs lack some senior players with longevity. Romero and Bentancur staying long term is only a good thing.
Would have been good for the squad depth but not that bothered as long as we get Eze. An established centre back to come straight into the first team would be the icing on the cake. My worry is an injury to Micky or Romero, or both and we will seriously struggle again
Danso is pretty solid but the left side of that defence is very shaky, especially with Ben now showing his age.
City insisting he is worth £20m more than someone with Eze's pedigree is giving me flashbacks of City thinking Harry Kane was worth £20m less than Jack Grealish.
Not arsed over the Savinho news. Though based on the impact of Kudus so far and the way I think Frank wants to play, a left sided equivalent to Kudus is probably needed/ wanted. I’d have loved Semenyo but now he’s tied to a new deal there aren’t any in the league I think are worth going for, especially stylistically. Abroad? Rafa Leao is probably someone Frank could work wonders with but you’re probably looking at having to spend north of £80m I’d imagine - type of statement signing we could do with though (on top of Eze ). As for CB, really not a position I’m too worried about. I already think we’ve got pretty decent depth there plus some promising young players, need to also take into account squad spots for CL. Signing a 5th (6th if you count Davies) senior CB would feel like overkill and almost certainly lead to Frank having to leave someone out of the CL squad anyway, there’s already going to be selection dilemmas for that as it is I think. Eze and a LW would be a superb window, a ST as well and I’d keel over in excitement.
Andy Jacobs on Talksport today was saying he had it from a very good source that the Eze deal to spurs was done and dusted. Not sure how reliable this is but he was on with Danny Kelly who is a big Spurs fan and so I don’t think he would say it unless very confident. Fingers crossed!
