Yeah it’s ridiculous. MH normally has no bearing on serious charges, so not sure why they’ve made a big deal of it in this trial. The only thing it’s taken into consideration for is do they send him to prison or a nut house.

It’s fair to say that a lot of nonces are mentally challenged but it’s not something that’s taken into consideration by a jury.

Government doubling down on Palestine action. Good <ok>

The home secretary has again defended the proscription of Palestine Action as a terrorist group, saying it is more than "a regular protest group known for occasional stunts".

Writing in the Observer, external, Yvette Cooper said the group had claimed responsibility for incidents that saw those allegedly involved subsequently charged with a range of crimes, including violent disorder and aggravated burglary.

She added that the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) had assessed these charges have a "terrorism connection".

Her comments come after the Metropolitan Police said on Friday that a further 60 people would be prosecuted for showing support for Palestine Action.

I don't get why people can't just protest and drop this Palestine Action ****, surely if the protest is that important to them, ie to save kids in Gaza, stop the war, blah blah blah, why does this group have to get brought into it by the protestors. They can't care that much for the kids if it leads to an arrest over some ridiculous name. Seems they are more trying to make a name for themselves than caring about any babies and toddlers...oh look at me, I got arrested, stupid ****s.

Yeah I was thinking this. Why not take to the streets and protest about what’s happening without mentioning the name Palestine Action…. As you say, it’s all about attempting to look cool now and making a name for themselves. The younger people will sharp regret it when they realise the impact charges like that have on their future.

Yup, as it stands at the moment what they are doing is getting themselves arrested having all their details taken, and making it easy for the cops in the future, especially with the spread of facial recognition cameras, which will eventually be placed outside every public transport station.

This all aids the government and cops in the future, so protest legally and they can't touch you, you don't get your details taken, and there will be no justified reason for facial recognition to impede your movements in future.

And you are right especially with younger people on what this will do with there future. I've seen these exact same methods used in Russia, and what happened there is government officials eventually pay your employer a visit, you then lose your job. We haven't got to that stage yet but the way Yvette Cooper is going we will not be far off it.

Stop making their job easy for them. Protest, but don't break the law and don't piss your average citizens off like Just Stop Oil did. Otherwise what will happen it will become more and more difficult to protest - I assume also these protestors will remember not to vote Labour again either. :bandit:

If you walk past the old bill and shouted "it smells like pork" or "it smells like bacon" you'd probably get nicked.

Why would anyone be surprised by that???

You shouldn't because it's not a crime in the Uk.

The 16yr old they arrested for saying we love bacon didn't say it to anyone directly he shouted it outside a mosque.
Probably got nicked for the reason this ex barrister says here....
    https://share.google/kBcNO9r9efxjj9Pn0

So anyone can say any word causes them alarm and distress and they can get someone nicked... And thats OK for you?

Woke fuking ninny Anne Madness if you ask me you silly old fart

PS.. Pls don't get me arrested for saying fart<laugh>

I might be wrong but I'm sure I read that a high percentage of those nicked have been 60 plus yrs old.
I worry that by putting criminal damage and aggrevated burglary as a reason for making a group a terrorist organisation that this government is demeaning what terrorism is and does to people's lives.
By this logic anti poll tax protesters and anti Aparthied protesters would have been charged with terrorism. Both committed criminal damage, threw paint and flour at buildings cars and people and burnt council and court letters in public, causing the government etc millions to clean up and repair.
These are the same MPs (of all parties) who openly celebrate the suffragette movement ... where women did commit acts of terrorism to change the law.
The same MPs that threw themselves at the feet of Nelson Mandela proclaiming him a hero.
I have no problem with this take...I think both the suffragette and ANC achieved change through their actions.
But I have a massive issue when criminal damage is now a reason to claim someone is a terrorist.

You missed my point...if you went up to an old bill and said "I love the smell of bacon" would you expect them to arrest you?
Personally I think only a moron wouldn't expect that to happen.

That's aggravated burglary and criminal damage not terrorism.
We have laws to deal with them but to use anti terrorism laws is pernicious.

Nah, that's what you get when you support terrorism, you get treated like a terrorist and good. Should have a death penalty for such treachery imo
