I'm pretty sure that players are only cup-tied in the same competition. Playing UEFA Conference League doesn't prevent playing in the UEL or CL for another club.

I think the delay has a much simpler explanation. We only have two more matches before the end of the window whereas Palace have four. It is a better deal all round if he leaves them at the end of the window.

If this is true, then we should already have someone else lined up. Lookman to Inter looks dead in the water and he's available fairly cheaply. Wissa would probably provoke Newcastle into chucking money at Brentford, though.
Great news for the club, big statement imo. I’ve been critical of Romero in the past but he was a massive part of the Europa league win and captain so it’s huge to keep him for the long deal.
