To be fair, no stats could prove that Obertan is a good player.

I genuinely preferred Luque and Pancrate.

obertan is young, needs to put his foot in, he's got the speed to catch up if he misses which in turn, if he suceeds, he's awaaaaayyyyy as for gutierrez pure work horse, he's tackles loads even the stats show that, so for him to work so defensivly and still have decent attacking stats, it just shows really, tiote also helps the team tremendously, he holds the ball well and is such a defensive presence, slows every attack down, gives us time, as we play in a very organised manner which sometimes dampens our creativity when the team's have worked us out and puts us on the back foot, this team is still working itself out, its only going to get better.

What Obertan does give us is a different option to what we've had for the last few seasons...pace. We just need to figure out a way of using him. I just wonder would he suit being played on the right of a 3 man front line better, than as an out and out winger?

Probably not, he cannot do anything a winger can do as well as what a front man can do.
He can just run and dribble a bit.

That is where he played, and he must have been doing well there for Man U to sign him.

HBA could play on the wing but we use him further up the field, why can people not view Obertan the same way?

The right hand side of a front 3, is esentially a wide player but further up the pitch. Anelka, Walcott etc have played it for the last few seasons. It would get the best from his abilities. Ba/Best central with HBA and Obertan playing in the left and right positions would work well. The only issue would be Jonas, but i'm sure he's intelligent enough to adapt to a 3 man midfield with Cabaye and Tiote.

The issue would be I dont think Jonas can play any of the positions in a 4-3-3. He's not good enough defensively to be a full back, he has never played CM and is too defensive to play as a wide forward.

Not good enough to do it in the Premier League though.

The thing I have noticed with Obs is the fact that usually when he does go on a run, there is rarely any options for him. He is isolated down the flank with nowhere to go. We are too slow for him in our build up play. If we quicken that up, we may see a better side to our oval headed assassin.
