Councils will offer higher rents to certain private landlords because of the type of people they want to put in them, that’s always been the case mate.
It’s not the council that are doing this, though. It’s charity’s and private housing associations that have approached landlords around here.
My son rents out his properties through a housing association, mainly due to they don’t charge him fees. He gets the going rate and the housing association pocket the difference which the councils are prepared to pay for certain types of tenants. He’s been doing this for the last 5/6 years.
The wording alone is worrying. How do the parents here see/feel about this? Happy for your kids to write valentines cards for refugees? Don't dare oppose this as you'll be reported as prejudice and intolerant and put on some watch list. Wtf
It’s a bit odd to say the least. As ever people latch onto it and make it into a huge issue but it is odd. Being kind, I’d say the council bods who come up with these things are idealists. In reality they’re probably not living in the real world. None of which has anything to do with an old slag like June jumping on the bandwagon, the ridiculous old ****. Also this letter is from March so why’s it suddenly a thing now?
Not one to defend Nige but it’s not really in football unless they start sponsoring a real team. You’d have to be a bit weird to buy one and on a register to pay £100 for the signed version. There was outrage over our flag being tweaked for something or other (pride, anti-racism?) at Wembley and they’ve stuck their version of the Union flag on there so that’s hypocritical but kind of irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. The marketing value from people amplifying it through Twitter probably well exceeds the shirt sales.
I assumed this was fake, just to trigger people, I could be wrong but can't be arsed checking...so I'm going to say it's fake.
