Wasn't paying full attention to that but we looked better than last time and you can't be annoyed with a point away at Ipswich.

Based on Still's comments this week about needing the right attacking players to play 4 at the back I think these first few games may all be a bit make do and mend with results a lot more important than performance. I'm hoping we get a couple in the door this week and I'm expecting a change of shape when they do arrive. Hopefully that helps us kick on.

Actually I've had numerous PM's from people telling me to tone down the positivity, that my happiness was a violent assault on the delicate ecosystem of grumbling and passive aggression, and to be sure to dial down the sunshine as it was upsetting others.

I obviously ignored those and continue to be a stalwart supporter of the current regime.

(This and the fact that I was voted best smile in Butlins Skegness circa 1993 proves you couldn't be more wrong.)

    He makes us happy,

If you’re referring to my response, don’t worry about Lincs. Having drunk too many beers with him (and yet not enough) he’s perfectly tough enough, and also knows that my responses are a loving caress.

I've not had the pleasure but after an afternoon watching the match whilst drinking Grimbergen Blonds I'm at one with everyone.

I feel like Lincs is now inhabiting the character of Lincs with languid ease. He is the Le Tissier of Negativity and loving the freedom it entails.

    For the overly happy ones:
our current points/game would net us 92 points (if my sunday math is right) and that's been automatic promotion in 8 of the last 10 years (if my sunday google is right) and we just need a tweak or two at most and we'll piss the league.

    For the not-happy ones:
our performances are crap, we don't have any creativity in the final third, we have a set of sick notes for forwards, we're about to sell all the assets but we have a pub (which I've never been in).

For anyone that has the audacity to sit on the fence (like me):
our performances are getting better but not been brilliant yet (though we have flashes where we are on it), we need to keep hold of Fernandes at all costs (I'm not so bothered about selling dibling if we get decent money) but we need wingers, we have some really good young players that will get better and we all hope that once the window "slams" shut with the death knell of most supporters hopes for their team's seasons we actually have the players WS need to play his way and if this the worst we expect it to be this season and we'll only get better than I'm ok with that.

As for LincolnSaint - he's a needed voice that helps keeps the emotional balance of the forum in check (and long may it continue)

Though that will all change if we lose to portsmouth next month...

That's probably going a bit too far.

I know you pay for all the drinks but I can only comment on what I see. It looked like a pile on in the making but I'm sure he can handle it.

I only posted that comment because Lincs asked me to.
