Yeah, I've only just read the social media account of it. I watched the game in a pub (thankfully, as I have Virgin at home) so I wondered what it was all about. I got home half cut and watched the highlights on Sky and could not understand why they focused 100% on that and nothing at all on the blatant handball and sending-off in the first half. I was seething and made comparisons with that Oldham player back in the day who claimed he'd been called a black bastard when, provably, he'd been called a Manc bastard, but it was in the aftermath of the Suarez witch trial, so we were guily as charged on everything in those days (Oliver Holt insisted he'd heard the word 'black', even though he was in an hotel room in Dubai at the time. But the accounts today on social media from other wheelchair users around him are pretty damning, and he apparently kicks off regularly (though this is the first time he's gone racist). I have no idea why any fan, especially a disabled fan who must have experienced prejudice himself, would support a team three-quarters full of black and Asian players if they themselves are racist, but to have a privileged spec in the ground and do that is scandalous. Apparently, the police had to escort him out of the ground because he wouldn't let the stewards remove him. I used to work on trains for a while, and I used to do staff training on disability awareness. Believe me when I say disabled people are a complete reflection on the whole of society - most are brilliant, but some are absolute ****s, don't fool yourself otherwise. Credit to Semanyu for not tipping the prick out of his chair when he got him to repeat it. I hope the ****er was arrested by the police and breathalysed as well. Banned for life, I hope, and not just from Anfield, but only after a complete investigation has been undertaken,
Astro was one. He also wanted the game played behind closed doors, but to be fair, I think the last bit was just to wind Tobes up when he was trying to get the league nullified. I imagine the two of them are still arguing about it up there.
I dont recall anything on wanting a super league but that makes sense I suppose, classic social media tv arm chair stuff.
Someone said thst as its a crime the police must do the removal and arrest and it did sound like he refused to go at first.
Just on Sky now that a 47-year-old has been arrested. My daughter is an LD nurse in Middlesbrough. She doesn't personally know this guy, but she said straight away after I posted he the social media coverage that he's bound to be LD (or special needs, as they were once called). Not that that excuses him.
As long as I get to watch Liverpool play. I don't care what league it's in... In other news, I woke up to Google this morning telling me this... Of course I immediately knew it was crap... But gave me a laugh.
We'd won the league 5 times by the 50s. Only Arsenal, Villa, and Sunderland had won it more than us before that. You hadn't. We've been a big side since the 20s, mate.
Youd swear these lads dont have access to Google. In 1892 there were 10 or 11scots in the first lfc team ffs. What rubbish is this about now? There's not a team in the land who didn't buy players all the way back in time.
Ahem hang on just one minute. Our first league title was when? 1901. Why are you arguing the toss with these clowns. Who gives a **** really. People who like football arguing over who's cock is bigger. That's all.
Shankly had to wait until his third season for the club to spend some money. He bought 2 players in his third season, Yeats and St.John and 1 in his fourth season, Thompson. I think our friend is getting us mixed up with Everton, otherwise known as the Mersey Millionaires.
Don't disagree. I've always bemoaned the inflation caused by clubs being a corporate investor's cash cow or a rich dilettante's plaything, although I'm happier with the former than I would be with the latter. At least we're being run as a self-sustaining business (those whining about the current spending spree have conveniently forgotten how frugal we have been before, in comparison to most other clubs at a similar level), but I do think they have little understanding of the relationship between a club and its fans. I'd like football to be run by football people, but it's been nothing more than just another business for a long time now.
Deadline day. Palace are only trying to maximise their return but they have to also have the replacement ready. Its going to be a fine balancing act for thrm. Thet are still hoping for chelsea still bid and a trade for chabolah. If it goes to January amd the fee is 15 then that's their issue. They said they couldn't lose on a free so we will see.
