i think loan fees should be banned though im sure thered be loopholes and stuff around it but the whole point of a loan is to give your player gametime and/or get his wages off the books loaning to the highest bidder is rank
The rumour last Saturday suggested it was suspended for 2 years and the Club had been informed? Makes no sense to me this length of appeal, utterly bizarre.
its a proper scummy thing thats slowly creeped in prem teams asking for £1m+ for short loans for their young players they should be wanting the best for them, playing as much as possible in mens football but instead, they will leave them, stuck in limbo, sometimes not even going on loan stuck in u21 all season if the loan fees not met..
A loan should be for three months with an obligation to buy If you don’t buy you don’t get another loan It’s all a fiddle and keeps players held to big clubs If they can’t loan loads out they wouldn’t be able to keep them all I’ve been saying it for years
Actually, I think loan fees for options or obligations to buy make more sense. They’re like a down payment. But a loan fee for Barry is just daft. I think Sheffield United had to pay a seven-figure loan fee for Rak-Sakyi too. Neither deals had any options to buy as both clubs wanted to keep them long-term.
It's really when clubs are in competition for the signing that they can demand a fee. Loans do happen with no fee, just the club covering a proportion or all of the wages, primarily for the benefit of the player. But I agree. The current system just allows bigger clubs to stockpile talent that have no genuine prospect or playing for their parent clubs and would otherwise be playing for clubs lower in the pyramid who would be able to benefit financially from them.
Chelsea’s ‘loan army’ that they’ve been operating for years just seems like a farce. Most of them aren’t even academy players loaned out for experience. They’re usually just players Chelsea have signed for eight-figure fees and loaned out indefinitely.
That’s all they’re doing now again too. They’re signing young players with no intention of ever playing them but they loan them out to top European sides instead and can still sell them for a profit. It’s ****ing mental, then you see the prize money they get from the club World Cup which they qualified for by winning the champions league in what 2021?!?
Me too. Plenty of promise in a poor team. Serg is getting a lot out of players previously written off, imagine what he’d have done with players who stood out for us last season!
Also, David Fergus did manage to get some news in his 11am call . The decision is still with the independant panel and there is no set timescale for that process. Assuming he's telling the truth.
He could put funds in indirectly with no problem, he's simply with his colleagues and sponsors needs to get creative to raise revenue as opposed to simply increasing liabilities.
