Luckily we do what's right for players, that's why i think we will see quite a few leave this summer as the club has probably outgrown them. That's totally fine as it happens, it's about looking after players and making sure they have great careers after they leave us. We have a lot of players that aren't good enough for the PL, so we will get them moves. We then have a group of players that certainly have the potential but will only get that by playing 1st team minutes. I tend not to write players off, especially youngsters as they develop at different rates. I try to make comments based on what I feel is best for a player and of course the club
I'm the same tbh. If the club, who I think we've all accepted now, know much better than us I live with it. If RLB decides Hjelde, Seelt, O'Nien, Browne, Roberts, or whoever, are what's currently needed I'll just support them and hope they're right. I do think it's a little below us to draw up lists and say 'Shyte, shyte, keep, shyte, etc.' People were desperate to get Hume out, Mayenda out, etc, so you'd hope they'd trust the club if others are retained and developed. The likes of Clough would gives games to players some supporters would now brutally dismiss on the basis of stats and metrics ... ... John Robertson was a fat lad who couldn't get a game in the reserves, Kenny Burns was dismissed as a one dimensional lump and Garry Birtles was playing on Sunday League pitches. Yet they won the European Cup. I just hope our club have the same judgement and don't simply believe data is king.
Bit rich from Flanagan that mind. I was never good enough to play at pro level, but one thing that stayed with me was advice from ex-pro coaches who drummed it into me as a tall but very thin CB not dissimilar from Flanagan in build was to make sure that I used my height, little bit of pace alongside focus when a ball was coming into a dangerous area. Flanagan used to madden me as he had the awful habit of completely switching off at the very point when he should have had his senses in overdrive. That Coventry 5-4 game being case in point. It could also explain why Flanagan is at Colchester and 09 is going to be involved at PL level this season.
clubs keeps eyes all over the message boards, it's one of two things . been asked to by the club or ready to go has just panicked and removed it just incase
Data is only part of it, the real judgement will be on how they are in training. With the new signings the training standard will increase and they'll be able to see who can step up to that standard. It's easy for us fans to say 'sell him', 'keep him', 'loan him' as we don't know the person and we are just judging on what we feel is right for the club/player As you said tho we have some great people at our club now and they know better than us, they'll not always get it right but noone does (even the know it all fans) I'm just buzzing with the journey since KLD came in, we got our club back when he came in and we are back in the PL in 2 days!!!
Rumours of a CF having a medical tomorrow started to do the rounds, a thread on RTG was then taken down when discussing it
Strikers vanishing, flights untrackable, medicals cancelled, threads being pulled ... ... but not a single quote from anyone about anything
Fulwell 73 need to make proper Luke documentary. From ramming as many belongings in his car to drive up here to sign from Wycombe..... to a premier league lion on his arm. Make it happen.
