The lads are very well known here.....there's a large Hispanic community that constantly talk about our mass following being amazing. That relates to them as there very passionate about their "soccer". Don't know about the meds.....lol....my heart is still trying to clam down from the play off final. The consensus of opinion is that this season will be struggle however with the new players brought in we shouldn't be far away from safety at the end of the season. Everyone is wishing for us to get over the line and consolidate from there. Hoping one day I can get over and meet you guys for a beer at the game...hope it's not a night game because after 8.00pm it's time for bed....lol. I know you and our following will be doing a lot of away games this season. Be safe on your travels and god bless....HTL!!!!
Cheers for that mate, I know that people on here keep an eye on what you're posting ... ... Ha'way the Lad and enjoy your week
Home win, 2-1 imo. Mayenda and Diarra. Will be cheering the Lads on from Side, Turkey Attack Attack Attack.
Brilliant to see your PL threads @RTB. Been looking forward to them and you’ve done us proud as always. Truly blessed to have moved back home in Nov 2024 and get to home matches with my sons and my brother. Shame it came too late for me to go with my Dad but I can feel his presence there every time we go, particularly so at the playoff home leg and Wembley which he would have absolutely loved. RIP Dad. Enjoy Saturday with the upstairs squad. Unbelievable summer window both in terms of squad but also management team. Still got some more strengthening to do and getting loans and permanent moves for those lads who have served us well to date. Also some lads needing moves who’ve not been able to breakthrough at lower levels. Thanks and good luck to them all. Special mention for KLD/ KS and FG. Tremendous effort, beyond our wildest dreams. Couple of more weeks and then hopefully they can get a break before planning for January begins in earnest. The fans were absolutely magnificent in the playoffs and at Wembley and the excitement is absolutely palpable. We need to stick with the team and club and remember just how much we can help what remains primarily a very young team in what will likely be a tough season. I’m delighted to see the flex that has meant we’ve added some genuine leaders to the squad. The likes of Xhaka, Reinildo, Diarra, Masuaka will be key in helping the younger lads to acclimatise to the step up. Edit - kept same user but can’t post using my normal login on my phone for some reason over the last couple of weeks. Not tech savvy so don’t know what I’ve done. Prediction for Saturday is 2-1 home win, Bowen for them, Diarra and an absolute thunderbastard from Xhaka to win it and take the roof off. Onwards and upwards. HTL.
Thanks mate. Means a lot. So proud of the club and the fans and can’t wait for Saturday and the season ahead.
I’m not one for pessimism, and don’t want to spoil the mood, but I almost feel like it’s a ‘must win’, I’m confident we will. West Ham finished the season poorly and they're exactly the level of team we need to beat at home. Anything short of three points and we’re already playing 'catch up’.
I think you're probably right. It's the pressure of getting your first 3 points on the board and showing that the players we've signed can play in the premier and that we belong in this league. The memory of what happened at the end of last season is still fresh and the stadium should be bouncing, we won't have a better opportunity to get a good start. Get 3 points and the players will have confidence that we can hold our own
I understand why you think that way....it feels like we've been gifted a chance to get off to a good start, which will do wonders for confidence etc., and ensure we're not marooned at the bottiom from the off. However,a lot of new players will take a bit of time to gel,and we mustn't expect too much. I don't see it so much as a must win,as a must competitive performance, which hopefully results in a win.
Important to get that 1st home win as soon as, we have 2 decent home games to start the season, plus a good away game. Hopefully get off to a flier
Heart says 3 points Head says a draw would be a good result What we do need is a good competitive performance, may down the marker
Might be excitement talking, but i think we will come flying out the blocks on Saturday and get stuck into them. I honestly cant wait, its worse than being a kid at Christmas
Same, though I didn't want to say it as thought it would just bring me grief I rely on your optimism to get me through this man... stiff upper lip and all that
