So he came in after the majority of our summer business had been done? How many did we sign after his appointment, kamara who we'd already been linked to and Rushworth?
You're talking as if someone like Hughes was a hidden gem. You could've scouted him from Mars. Replacing the likes of Mika with kids from obscure leagues with little senior experience is unsurprisingly not a recipe for success. He's not done a good job at all.
What part of Tan, Acun, Beri, and Merthan Acil all being more influential than someone who had literally just filled Darno's 's relatively junior role in that window are you not getting exactly? The windows he's a really managed we've done reasonably OK in, even if he hasn't quite managed to put a complete stop to Acun's wildcard vanity signings.
I didnt claim he scouted Hughes, how on earth did you read a post taking the piss out of your constant line of "being a successful club is super simple" as suggesting that? But on a serious note, Dublin has produced an excellent window this summer despite our limitations and suggesting otherwise is wild. Other than Joseph we'll also likely make a profit on everyone we paid fees for the last two windows (and one we didn't pay a fee for in alzate).
Last summer window wasn't on him. He was in what is largely an administrative role. That's the point. Is Hodgey to blame for the current embargo too 'cos that happened with him as head of recruitment after all? Of course not. FFS!
Dublin and Hodge have worked miracles this summer. Anyone criticising them is just looking for something to complain about.
Especially pinning last summer on Dublin when he wasn't even here for most of it. And in a junior role for the couple of weeks he was. It's so contrived it doesn't even bear credibility.
We're not making a profit on Kamara, we aren't making one on Burstow either unless something changes. The Alzate fees is handy but it likely only covers what we'd have paid him in wages, signing on fees and agents fees to get him to the club. The Crooks fee hasn't been publicised either and nobody is paying £5m for Puerta when we can't register him. Your point also completely ignores the high wages we paid to the likes of Pedro for a minimal return and then there's the Louie Barry 7 figure **** up
Considering he's working to an agreed business plan with the EFL, then he's clearly been able the demonstrate we can afford it by shipping out high earners and generating fees. But considering we probably covered their wages by shipping out Omur, Alzate, Pedro and Sinik then it probably wasn't that much of a financial miracle, just a miracle in terms of convincing them not to take similar size offers elsewhere and come here under these circumstances.
That’s the thing, people are talking like we were the only ones offering higher wages. Bullshit, McBurnie and Lundstram could have gone to a number of clubs, were very lucky to have them.
We're clearly open to selling anyone but the 2 prized assets, but we're in this position because of our ****ups in the market. It's almost like spending nearly £4m on Barry & Joseph in January wasn't a good idea. Or wasn't that Dublin's fault either? But that's down to the gaffer and SJ is impressive and likeable.
Right, so a player with no injury history gets put out for the season and it's a recruitment fck up by Dublin, even though Acun up until this July was claiming he was personally responsible for the deal?
It's a recruitment **** up to pay £1m for a half season loan in the Championship + wages. We only paid that for Fabio and it included wages. Plus we were in the hunt for the top 6, so it made some sense. The Athletic reported that we paid £1.5m for Barry with wages And Barry didn't have a good injury record either.
Nope. Still not grasping the idea that Dublin has been second to Acun in deciding who we sign for literally THIS ****ING WINDOW. Jesus ****ing Christ. .
The Barry deal clearly had Acun’s paws all over it. I’d be surprised if Dublin had any say on it at all. Most of the Championship wanted him on loan and Acun payed over the odds to get him then ****ed up by not even paying the fee because he runs a football club like Del Boy. The Joseph signing may have been his doing but I actually suspect Sellés pushed for that.
The Athletic also reported we’d signed Barrie on a permanent at Acuns last fans evening so you may as well believe the **** people post on here.
And Acun claimed personal credit for the deal. Now go back to playing champ and thinking that's the ****ing reality.
You're just making stuff up to try and feed a narrative. Dublin's never built a successful Championship team, he had plenty of money at Stoke and didn't do ****. He's just repeating what he did elsewhere. And they had very decent gaffers too. I don't dispute that other people have input, but let's be frank, it doesn't take much scouting of Kyle Joseph to know he's not very good.
