I seem to remember that Patrick Bamford's contract contains a specific clause, reportedly guaranteeing him the position of Leeds' highest-paid player. Dominic Calvert-Lewin is being signed on a free transfer – often accompanied by a substantial salary package to compensate for the lack of a fee. This is going to make it even more difficult to get rid of Bamford!!!!
In fairness Matt can you put together a list of freebies for tomorrow’s thread. Ones that our bankers are actually prepared to sign. On plus side I’ve no doubt we will be best team in championship next season
Morning all If Lineker and Ferdiscum say Leeds SHOULDN'T sign DCL, then Leeds SHOULD sign him ... those two plonkers take delight in seeing Leeds fail, so they obviously feel DCL can do a job at ER ... thing is, DCL is still capable of doing the biz, he just needs the right team, and Everton definitely is a graveyard for strikers ... DCL may just be a success at Leeds with Piroe just behind him in the 10 role Anyway, Leeds have reached agreement with DCL, so need to support him now Striker options are running thin now, and Muniz at Fulham will be off to Atalanta ... the Italians have put in a firm bid of £34.5m and they can pay more in wages plus offer European football Please please please, no more Josh Sargent talk ... he's a flipping donkey who will drown in the Prem ... it's one thing scoring against weak defences in the August sunshine, it's a massive step up for a slowcoach against sharp Prem level defenders when the chips are down and the pressure is on ... definitely not what we need, rather use Bamford than the Yank Ramazani is a genuine talent, Farke rates him but needs him to mature ... a season at Rangers may just be what the lad needs, go and play against cloggers who want to kick you to pieces, shine like a crazy diamond and come back with lots of games under his belt and full of confidence
Who in their right mind signs a player like that, unless its a pay as you play basis, haven't they learnt anything about signing and inheriting crocks. The mind boggles, it surely does.
Patrick Bamford scored as many goals in his first Premier League season (17) as Dominic Calvert-Lewin has managed across the last four seasons in the top flight combined
Nmecha free due to long history of injuries curtails his playing time. Ok so maybe if he stays fit he could come good and give us something a gamble but a good one. DCL free to long history of injuries……. What fkg playbook are we following…. Read something a few weeks ago about a striker Pep wanted to take to Man City last season as back up for Haaland. For whatever reason it didn’t happen maybe because the kid signed for a La Liga outfit. Anyway the kid is only 20yo, big, powerful a history of scoring lots of goals and used sparingly in La Liga. He would cost around £15m and he has the potential to be a top top striker. Orri Oskarsson is the name and for me well worth a shout
Rio Ferdinand, Lineker and now Danny Murphy questions how Leeds could be this stupid. His record even when fit is shocking for a striker and he hasn’t really been a striker for 4 years…..
