It looked worse in real time to be fair. Also as others have said he is trying too hard - it is not natural. Once one goes in, I think he will relax. I also miss (pun intended) those 'Che' moments from our game, where we all feel we could be footballers
Just watched it and you're kind of right in that it was behind him. I still feel a top striker would have contorted their hips or whatever they do to get the shot away, but yeah, fair. The ball in to him wasn't crap though either; could have just done with a tiny bit more pace on it. Just one of those things. Props to Archer though who got the move going and made an excellent through ball to BBD. Just pointing it out because he got a lot of flak last night.
Totally agree that he needs to get one, then we'll start to see what he has about him. I actually thought some of his link up play last night was pretty good, and he's a physical presence. I don't think he's going to be Rickie Lambert, but then I don't think he's going to be Mara either.
He had a few feinted moves early on where he clearly wasn’t on the same wavelength as those around him. Hopefully it’ll come good and gel in time.
oh Che! As Ralph said, he made the hard look easy but the easy look hard. If this lad scores his first goal with a 30 yard lob over a top keeper we’ll know we have found the new Che Adams! Mind you, I’ll be happy with 3 yard tap-in as I’m sure he would be. Newsflash. He didn’t turn down a lucrative offer from Real Madrid to come to us. Hopefully he’s a work in progress, but giving him grief won’t improve his performance
Just got a flash to watch extended highlights of last nights game. That’s this evening’s insomnia treatment sorted.
He was clearly the better of the front three. It’s not easy being stuck out on the wing. He needs to play through the middle and have through balls put in for him to run on to.
Ball numbers for the draw. Bromley away would be my first choice but a few other potential decent ones like Wycombe, Cambridge and the winner of Exeter/Cheltenham. Would say I'd want Wimbledon but doubt I'd get a ticket. 1 AFC Bournemouth 2 AFC Wimbledon 3 Brentford 4 Brighton & Hove Albion 5 Bristol City 6 Bromley 7 Cambridge United 8 Cardiff City 9 Charlton Athletic 10 Coventry City 11 Fulham 12 Millwall 13 Norwich City 14 Oxford United 15 Plymouth Argyle 16 Reading 17 Southampton 18 Swansea City 19 West Ham United 20 Wolverhampton Wanderers 21 Wycombe Wanderers 22 Cheltenham Town or Exeter City
Based on who's left in it presumably. Would be a dreadful tie though. I'm half expecting away to Brentford where we'll almost certainly concede 3 goals.
