Thank you @RTB, buzzing for this season even more than usual. Hope that we get an AltEnding video about RLB’s in game tactical genius against West Ham.

after listening to WTF podcast, I’ve got a sneaky feeling we might see Alderete as he’s played against Barca/Real/Atletico/Brazil/Argentina plenty of times and is more prepared for the occasion, as opposed to Seelt who is more familiar with our tactics.

Might only see Enzo if RLB wants to send a message to the old guard to leave. Would be great to see Neil/Roberts/Rigg/Isidor come for the bench and score the winner. Diving header, Kevin Ball style.

Tremendous thread RTB as always, thank you for your sterling service. Cannot wait for the pub 11am Saturday 16th August 2025, back in the Premier starting with a big breakfast with the lads and lashings of Guinness.

Going to arrive early, 2.30ish to savour the atmosphere, absolutely buzzing for it. Hopefully the lads deliver and we win 2-1

Then back to the boozer to chew over the fat, before home 7.30ish for an Alishaan. Life's a good'un

    Hhhaaa'wwwwaaaaayyyyyy the lads

    Exceptional thread again RTB...
I've been looking various so called pundits on their take on where teams will finish in the EPL this season... No great surprises we are bottom of the list with every single one i've read. In fact, all have gone for the all 3 promoted teams going down again.
Pretty standard and safe predictions from people not taking into account what has been done by all three clubs in the transfer market and the lack of activity by clubs who, lets face it, didn't set the Premier League on fire last season... Lets see. Whatever happens, i'm proud of how Sunderland have approached this season, if we do end up in the bottom 3 three, not one fan can say we didn't try...I, for one, think two of the promoted teams will survive and we will be one of them

Been thinking about the game as its quiet at work and some early thoughts are I expect early phases to be dominated by controlled possession-to-progression patterns, from West Ham, who may use asymmetric build-up lanes to draw out our pressing traps and then flip play via switch-of-play diagonal channels.

We will need to manage transitional vulnerability in the half-space corridors — particularly if they commit fullbacks high and fail to reset with adequate counter-press depth layering. I am hoping West Ham’s reliance on dead-ball metrics and wide channel exploits could clash with our high-wire central press orientation.

Top thread RTB, first pint's on me <cheers>

Whatever happens on Saturday we'll know the club has exceeded all of our expectations.

Qualifying for the playoffs was quite an achievement after the previous season, especially with a manager new to the UK, but few expected us to win promotion.

After all of that there's no reason to believe we can't win so that's what I'm expecting ...

... 2-0 and a great start to a new chapter, Ha'way the Lads!!!
