It very much is but I do share a slight concern about performances as a whole. Arguably we’ve had 6 poor performances in a row (yes despite wins but wins against people you would very much hope to beat at our level), at some point in needs to become a point of concern but I agree right now it’s still a bit early. This is why I think Sunday is actually quite huge. If we show up there with the same low energy, almost can’t be arsed attitude then I think it’s fair to start asking a couple questions. Nothing major though. We seem to start very bright for 5 minutes and then lose it.
There are many players to be sold to reduce the squad, and players to come in. Add in Fernandes and Dibling (if we somehow manage to keep both) will need game time to get up to speed. Considering we played 4-2-3-1 for most of the pre season, Still appears to be waiting to play the style he wants when we have the players for those positions. You really can't judge until September.
I don’t. Just as I don’t think it is for Ipswich (despite their poor start and losing today). September onwards is huge. And not even the start of September. Mid September is when things should really be starting to click.
Agreed, the quality of the squad is so patchy and pre season has been disjointed with injuries and players wanting out. 4-2-3-1 makes sense for Downes, Charles & Fernandes, but our right backs are poor, we have three ok left backs, four centre backs who probably think they should start and things only get worse further up the pitch with players lacking confidence or seemingly dont want to be here
All this talk of formations, but I liked Will’s formation from about 85 mins on Saturday. 2-1-7 Worked well and got us a couple of goals

Mentioned it at HT but wanted again to give Northampton a bit of credit. Was genuinely quite impressed with them. Well organised, brave in their closing down, and every player including the subs knew their role which is the sign of a well coached team imo. Obviously we were very poor but they deserve credit too. Bit more quality in the final third and am upset was definitely on the cards there. ,
I remember seeing a video of Downs and all it seemed highlight is shooting ability not to score. I couldn’t believe it. There were so many shots over the bar I thought he was playing rugby
Surprised that they managed to find 2 minutes of highlights from that match. 3 incidents for each team. Nolan clapping got included. So 4 for Northampton.
I like the song he sings at the end; Long ball, second ball, third ball, foul. It's like the big box little box tune from the 90's
Just seen the miss from Downs last night and in his defence it was a crap pass to him - it wasn't played in front of him so he had to slow down to receive the ball. A good pass and he takes it in his stride and scores. So while he still should have scored it's not nearly as bad a miss as I thought.
