But no country's people have to bend over and accept the extreme, criminal practices of the immigrants, whether they are legal or illegal. In the old days of conquering a land, everyone clashes and fights, blood spilt, there's a winner. That's highly likely to happen again, I don't think countries will accept things as they are, things will explode soon.
How we pick and choose. The extreme criminal practice of a tiny minority of migrants is presented to the People by the right wing press as an existential threat to the British way of life. The same right wing press that acted as a propaganda machine for the British Aristocracy during a century of blood-soaked Empire building. While at the same time, vast numbers of peaceful, law abiding migrants are exploited working in parts of society that our own young people won't touch with a barge pole. Because those migrants are willing to work for a pittance doing jobs that would make many of our own youngsters throw up. What thanks do those migrants (who outnumber the criminals 1,000 to 1) get from the Daily Mail, the Telegraph, the Express? How many front page headlines do the army of millions of nurses and care workers get, screaming about what a tireless, thankless job they do day in, day out looking after our aged, frail and vulnerable folk. Not one. The UK is drowning. Not in a tsunami of evil criminal migrants. But in a flood of its own hypocrisy. And as ever, it will be the innocent people who suffer. People like some that I work with, whose families came to this Country 50 years ago to escape from fascist monsters like Idi Amin. People who have worked hard and paid their taxes here for decades. People who were frightened to walk home from work during the Southport Riots, when anybody who did not have white skin or dress in Western clothes was fair game for abuse and violence on the streets. When honest, hard working foreigners who had put their lives into opening small shops in the community had their properties gutted, looted and burnt. Folks here need to get a sense of perspective before they start joining mobs intent on attacking police officers, looting shops, burning down hotels and lynching anyone they set eyes on that they don't like the look of.
I see the Police have been told to release the ethnicity & immigration status of people they arrest. Full disclosure is usually a good thing. When the Daily Mail prints the numbers on their front page, they might think to give equal prominence to the number of suspects who are not migrants, compared to the number who are. But of course that will not happen. Perhaps all the Health authorities & social care companies should be advised to release the ethnicity & immigration status of every nurse who helps a patient, and every care worker who looks after an elderly, disabled or vulnerable person, every time that job is done. And perhaps the Daily Mail could publish that information in a front page splash every couple of days. Full disclosure is a good thing. So is balanced reporting.
Do you not think we have the right to know who exactly is committing crimes and where they are from? We are literally spending millions on sex pests and other malefactors who are out to damage and destroy the lives of innocents. It is utterly naive to suggest just one in a thousand migrants is a criminal. Where did you pull that stat from? For a start, there are 10k migrants in our prisons. And we all know most convictions don't result in a jail term. The number of sex crimes committed by migrants is frightening, shocking, enraging. It has to stop, yet our cowardly politicians haven't the stones to do it. We have enough of our own problems without importing more. Only an imbecile says, 'But, but there are lots of British criminals.' Yes, they are our problem to deal with. Why should we tolerate (and pay for) foreign criminals? Over a million migrants claiming Universal Credit. Utterly pointless. This country is done, finished - it is creaking under the weight of mass immigration, yet there are many who who have well and truly buried their heads. Everyone knows the majority of migrants are decent, law-abiding folk. But there has to be a point where we say enough is enough.
I think we have a right to know everything. Including how much our society depends on migrant labour. But I also know that even where all information is disclosed, we all tend to acknowledge only what we want to see. We all want justice. But for my part, not at the cost of huge suffering by innocent people who are vilified by association.
Who is suffering? We are the most tolerant, generous nation on earth. People flock here because they know they are pretty much guaranteed to stay and with many benefits chucked in. If we were so malevolent and unwelcoming, people wouldn't come here in their droves. Fact is, we are a soft touch, even with those who seek to harm us and erode our way of life. If anyone is suffering, it is the taxpayer shouldering the burden of untold billions.
I feel we're going round in circles again. Others feel free to debate by all means, but I am not saying anything new at this point. I'll let it rest for the moment.
Reply edited: I didn't see the humour in this earlier, so apologies for my somewhat terse initial reply. I need to lighten up a little sometimes.
Tying your every thought into a political party has always been past me, moreso when it'd all about history, the further back the worse, its not about i told you so or we were right, or payback. You are ok with the recent rapes and intimidation across the UK then ? As long as it can be justified or compared to and concluded that its not so many. Anyway, I dropped in to try and get a feel of what it is like at the front line, the locals. Not to rustle the Feathers, im huge on everyone's opinion being respected, as its usually based on what that person has lived, and not just pre ordained prejudice or historical precedent.
You are absolutely right. Everyone's opinion is worthy of respect. Perhaps in the past that was not the case on this forum, and I have to take some responsibility for that. But I hope I have learned my lesson. In the past when I used to argue in a much more abrasive and adversarial style than I do now, I would often ask somebody who disagreed with a point of view I had concerning an obvious injustice, whether they "were ok" with the situation. One example being whether fellow fans "were ok" with the way Roland Duchatelet was running CAFC during our relegation season of 2015-16. Asking me if I am ok with rapes because I don't like the way reports of them are being used to whip up racial and religious hatred is a question that I should not have to answer. Of course I am not ok with them. I could just as easily ask if you are ok with racial and religious hatred being used as a weapon for extremists to gain power. With the frustrations and fears of people being exploited by hate-mongers to target entire ethnic populations, often for a crime that was nothing to do with them. These days however I would not ask you a question of that nature, not even casually or figuratively to highlight a point of argument. I have learned that it is not right to do so. Dreadful, horrific things like rapes, grooming gangs and murders happen. They are real events that have devastating consequences for the victims, their loved ones, and sometimes innocent people who are dragged into the public reaction to them by the spreading of malicious lies online. But just because we may disagree about how such horrific crimes are best dealt with or avoided in future, it does not mean that any of us "are ok" with those terrible crimes. Our disagreements should not be taken as anybody trying to 'justify' or down-play the grave seriousness of the matter. We are better than that.
Whats good for the goose is good for the gander. Taken on board. Are we winning this weekend or not ?
Topping the table after one game is not a benchmark- they just happened to score the most goals on the opening day , but I do feel this will be a harder test than Watford
Good lot the Aussies. Men and women of serious convictions. Or at least their great great grandparents were.
