I would give you a detailed analysis of why that failed. But all I can be arsed to say is, it's Wrexham, Ryan Reynolds, documentary, magic, consecutive promotions, obviously going to happen when they scored their second goal.
There was so much that was good in that performance. Unfortunately the keeper looked suspect throughout and when it came to penalties he just never looked set.
Annoying to lose that when we looked comfortable so close to the end but there was some encouraging play and we scored 3! Hope losing it so badly when it should have been won gives them a real kick up the arse. (No licking)
Let’s hope Ivor doesn’t get injured or we are ****ed, I never understood why tlt had to go out. I understand even less that we replaced him with this kid
No idea how we’ve lost that but we played some amazing stuff. Our first two goals were excellent and the other bit of play when it lead to Kamara 1vs1 is as good as I’ve seen from a city team in many years. We look a lot more confident with the ball and not afraid to take it in tight spaces.
This is why we shouldn't have loaned out TLT, absolutely pointless letting him go and bringing in Phillips.
Well cup games for the sub keeper are generally the only games they play. He's ****ed himself over with that performance.
Couldn’t care less about the result, it was a good run out and we outplayed them in all areas. It’s just annoying that it was against fairytale fc and their legion of bandwagon fans.
I don't think he's particularly good, but I wouldn't say Phillips was at fault for either goal, Hughes and Famewo both out jumped, neither were keepers to come and claim for me. Did ask during pen shootout if he had holes in his gloves tho....
OK we lost, mad couple of minutes cost us in the end but loads to be positive about that, thoroughly enjoyed our performance bar the silly couple of minutes, things we learned .. Pandur has no need to worry about his place, McBurnie is gonna be excellent for us, Lundstrom was excellent, and Serj don't lie, he never wins a penalty shoot out ! What could have been eh ? But not downcast after that, we move on to Saturday, and huge shout out to the travelling fans, heard ya loud and proud all night, kudos to all that travelled.
Well at least we will be on Hollywood documentary of Wrexham after today's game. Any exposure is good.
Pros: - Some of the best football I’ve seen City play in ages - We looked ruthless creating and taking chances Cons: - Complacency cost us; showboating at 1-3 up is just silly - Phillips might be a worse shot-stopper than Allsop
