Can't say I expected a positive result when I had seen the line up. At least we have a player called teddy tarbotton
Decent game.... better side won.... huge learning curve for everyone.... some of those lads won't make it unfortunately....
Not a bad showing, at the end of the day. Team full of players who are either teenage or just turned 20. Was 2-0 up against run of play. Argyle with home advantage and much more experience won out. Plus a ref who would blow for an Argyle free kick every time we touched them, regardless of circumstances.
There wont be many more ****tier teams than Preston who will visit us this season and a relegated club in crises who haven’t replaced selling there best players from last year, and can’t win, oh QPR **** off
I swear they were just making up names at the end...next year they could go the whole hog and not bother sending the first team coach either
I appreciate the sentiment and comments the manager will make about learning more about the players, blooding the youngsters etc but this is a real football match. If you want to practice, organise some friendlies, play some behind closed door games, do some training. If your going to play a real game, infront of real people, who pay real money have the decency to try to win.
Agreed. Strange selection of players as if we didn't really believe we could win it. Dixon Bonner most likely won't play for the first team again. It's a bizarre feeling, expecting to lose against a lower league team. It wasn't a good showing as we very rarely had the ball at all which didn't enable many, if any, players to show some potential.
