2 wins out of 2, but still waiting for a good performance, or even just a glimmer of hope that this team can play to a decent standard. The Wrexham performance was bad, but tonight was absolutely awful. We still look like a team of very average (generous) players with no idea of how to play. I really hope we are active in the remainder of the transfer window because this squad isn't getting promoted.
Archer is a striker. Not a winger. We play him LW and RW so no wonder he doesn’t look that good. I don’t really understand why people assume strikers should be able to play the wide position so comfortably.
Typically **** early cup game performance really. Don't think anyone staked a claim to push into the first 11. Thought ross Stewart was in the starting lineup?
Well the rules say me and Ms S have to pick a MOTM out of that nonsense, but I don’t know any of the Northampton players names Shea was good 1st half, maybe him? Manning was ok, maybe him? We’ll be unbeatable if we actually play well I like a lucky manager
On a happier note. Pompey lost to Reading. Less happier note. Boro lost 4-0 at home to Doncaster. Grandson went and won’t be a happy chappy.
He didn't score in his first few games (had to wait till Millwall away in the cup, game 3 maybe?) and fans were impatient and got on his back. Shock horror, I know. I remember it well.
Not sure who was worse, BBD or the work experience commentator. Still, we didn’t win our first league cup game the last time we got promoted…
I'm not too fussed about a **** performance TBH. We won the game, we're getting back into that winning habit (which is not to be understated after what happened last season). BBD is ****, he won't be playing in the league anytime soon. Robinson will come back in for him so that's fine. We're clearly going to strengthen our attacking options in the transfer market so I'm relaxed about it all TBH. Yes, it would be nice to play better but we've got 2 wins and that's the main thing.
