Brenaldo can definitely play as a ST. Won’t contribute anything in the build up but give him a chance in the six yard box and he buries it.
I do even wonder if that’s a potential Frank plan with the signings of Kudus and potentially Savinho and Eze. Three players who are more known for creativity than goals behind a player purely known for goals…
As I said earlier, it is putting more onus on our forwards to up their goal contributions That or we give Vuskovic a bunch of games...
You can't ignore Johnson goal scoring ability, especially in Spurs current position, but most of us seem to agree that he is very ineffective too much of the time as a winger. It does make you think that we play him in the wrong position. Is he a striker? Maybe not on his own but as a double header with Solanki?
To me he is a support striker, for sure. Similar to Dele in some ways. I don't know why he gets all the hate he does.
If the 'new investment' required to build the hotel/luxury flats/NFL training centre(cough...women's training centre...cough) is matched £4£, we could buy Eze, Savinho, Guehi and others...but will it be? Come on (You Spurs) Daniel!...put the team on a par with building stuff!!!
I'm off to head office to fetch the 'we tried' filing cabinet. They say it's the real reason we built a new stadium. Got too big for WHL.
I think he could make a very decent poacher, not offering much in the buildup but there to put the ball in the net, like @Dier Hard says, he’s probably the best finisher the club has now.
Savinho Watch DO NOT PANIC Some aggregator claimed the Mansourites told use he's not for sale, citing a Jack Pitt-Brooke article that does not exist Pitt-Brooke has already lambasted them
Would love us to sign Eze but am fully expecting to see him in an Arsenal shirt next week. I do think some of the transfer criticism is harsh as we thought we had Gibbs-White until he bottled it and there is no way anyone expected us to lose Madison for the best part of a season
Oh...and I'm very pleased we didn't go for Grealish...not disciplined enough to play in a Frank team imho
This isn't actually true though. Building investment is exempt from all the external financial limits on us while investment in players is caught by them. The building investment also generates a future profit stream which can be spent on players.
Agree 100%, but that's the least of his faults now I think. Personally think he's overrated. Has some talent but has never shown a consistency of 'elite' performance, either at club or international level that you should expect from him when valued that high
The ultimate "flair" player. The problem with my definition of flair is that it's very nice to have, but how effective is it for your team? Is floating around until someone fouls you worth a place in the team, where you will also lose someone who will do a lot of defensive work as well? Sure he does more than that, but the team has to be made to accommodate him, rather than the other way round.
Type of player who is no good unless getting his own way imo…I think we need a different kind of hunger Might have kept his neck wound in at City because he has too many obvious elite players around him but imagine him not getting game time as he may want with us…I think he would stink the place out because we aren’t a club that deal with these types swiftly enough from what I gather. A luxury player who’s won the lot with minimal contribution in all honesty as he was bit part for Pep, rightly or wrongly is irrelevant imo for our concerns but that mixture with a bit of Jack Grealish Im the man type of demeanour regarding himself, I feel isn’t what we need. I get the feeling he would soon be thinking he’s bigger than the club Could be totally wrong and he could be hungry to prove to Pep that he didn’t do him justice so would have ripped it up for us and become the leader we’ve never had and lead us to the title or CL glory or even FA cup heaven…..but I doubt it.
It's perfectly capable of being true, dependent upon how much investment into the club ENIC are willing to make/accept. The fact that they prioritise cheap borrowing and more profit for themselves over sporting success and additional growth, is a choice, not an unavoidable inevitability. The circumstances prohibiting additional sporting investment are a convenient 'out' to our owners. If they chose to, they could negotiate a way round them...they just don’t want to. Maybe bleating on about winning the PL and CL should wait until sporting success is at least an equal to ENIC's bottom line?
