Not only can we not know for sure if he's right, but we also can't be sure what the motives are. Is it because Neil is about to sign his contract? Or is it Dan Neil's camp pressuring us into offering more money, by implying he'll leave for free otherwise next summer? All that really matters right now is him signing his contract or not.
I think, what people are missing, is that we don't actually have an innate right to any of this 'information' ... ... 'journalists' can post as much or as little as they wish, same goes for the club but to a different degree. It's starting to remind me of when KLD was settling in and people were demanding 'statements' every other day.
My point is that a BBC journalist shouldn't be saying something like he said without validating it first. Fans shouldn't have to ignore the BBC when a reputable organisation like that has one of its representatives giving news.
Worst part of transfer windows for me is the vague hinting by people, just gets folks hopes up and usually nowt comes of it.

I have to say it does make me nostalgic, for the south of France, when I read something in French ... ... I need to have a chat with Mrs RLB the next time she's around.
The internet forum equivalent of knowingly dropping a dummy grenade in a crowded trench and pissing off.
Football journalists are little better than gossip columnists imo. Anyone putting too much faith in them are on a sticky wicket ... ... this should give everyone a big clue https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/gossip
Why are you on a transfer thread if you think people shouldn’t be focusing on transfer news and info. You’re just riling yourself up really
Pryde said ‘we understand’. Not that there were rumours. Made it sound like it was concrete. Poor from him if untrue, but I doubt he’d come out like that if it wasn’t?
La Liga is already further down that path than we are - having their Super Cup games on foreign soil etc. They're desperate to try and claw some of the global market share back from the Premier League so these are the lengths they are having to go to.
Only if laughing at people getting upset, because they think private flight details are being withheld from them, is being riled. People are openly upset because flight details are being hidden, on one hand ... ... then saying the club wants to keep them private on the other, errr yeah. In any case, I'm entitled to post my opinion on this thread, or any other ... don't like, ignore button is right there. .
