Liverpool paid £120m for Wirtz. Isak (and his agent) should be able to look at that and do the math, it's not ****ing difficult ! Undervaluing yourself (and your employer) just to try and force a move is a bit ****ing stupid. If Isak is being advised by this clown he needs to get rid, but as many have said before me, Isak himself is an actual fully grown adult so should be able to work this out for himself.
It's only going to take about another 10 years until the players growing up will have seen Newcastle competing long enough for us to carry at least some relevance. Money and time is all that's required.
I mean, exactly this, but this is why Newcastle's window and Isak stance has been so utterly misguided. We are still in a position whereby an offer of £130m for a player should be taken, and will be for a few more years. This was a chance to reinvigorate a tired squad with real talent, and we've made a mess of it. We now have the Isak saga dragging on when it should be so, so simple (relatively) to move him on and bring in three attackers and aggregate his contribution. Our leadership has been and remain very poor. There's no structure to the transfers, no clarity around how we build. Too many words like "tight knit group" get bandied around, which is small time, then we deal with Isak like we're bigger than Liverpool. Get him gone, today, then get in a proper CF, a proper support striker and a versatile attacking midfielder. Dicking about signing the likes of ****ing Ramsdale on loan isn't a good look for anyone.
but we have shown we cant sign players at the moment with this current setup. So we will be cash rich with no strikers or midfield cover.
okay, so we have 2 strikers ready to go for the Villa game then? Let's say we sell Isak next week. Do you have the confidence in the current set up to get the 5 players in, 2 strikers, 2 midfielders and another defender before the window shuts. And to not squander it on over inflated players?
I don't have the opinion we have been useless in the transfer window. My opinion is we have been ambitious and have unfortunately been pipped at the post by bigger clubs with deeper pockets which when we are honest is ultimately what it comes down to (Money). I will never accept that we offered Sesko more money than Man U. Its clear and understandable there's a pecking order in football and we are a bit down the list at present. Fair play for the club trying to bridge that gap with ambitious signings but we probably need to keep the CL qualification going for a couple of years and then when the finances follow and are constant then we can compete with the finances of the other top teams. The other way to do it is to offer lower wages but long contracts (8 years) like Chelsea. Who knows if that model will work for them in the long run. If your the only person doing something your either a Genius or a head case only time will tell with them. Have faith we will get there, Without Isak we are a couple of strikers short but will replace him. I wouldn't mind Watkins for 2 years and Wissa. More goals from them 2 than Isak last season. A midfielder, theres been a few linked and then for the rest we are good and can expect another good season. (assuming Thiaw is done)
The biggest commodity in football? Goals!! And Isak scores a lot of them, so pay up fokkers cause he ain’t going on the cheap.
He’s said he doesn’t want to play. Never again. Howe has said he only wants players who want to play for Newcastle. There is no way he ever plays for us again. Liverpool either have to pay the asking price or he does indeed sit in the reserves.
I think when people don't like something they hear they go looking for reasons to not believe it. The situation with Isak is very obvious though.
You stated: Pure ****e. We can clearly sign players. At no point did I say that I expect us to sign 5 players in the next 3 weeks. We'll get closer than you doom mongers seem to suggest, whether we sell Isak or not. Tensions are high - I get it - but some of the stuff we tap out is just nonsense.
The wor flags things btw. There's hopefully a lesson learned Stick to flags about Newcastle and to players that served the club well over time.
