I know you are a positive thinker No7 and that's fine too, it would be no good if it was all doom and gloom on here either. Room for both I think. I just had a feeling that people were being discouraged from posting their (negative) thoughts. I thought that if I didn't say something now, I would have to start feeling positive myself and that would lead to; Unrealistic predictions Being able to identify the players again Being able to watch more than 10 minutes on a dodgy stream without thinking they (the opposition) are going to score soon Happily checking the fixture list and league tables after a run of 5 defeats and with Pompey up next Thinking we played great after losing to Pompey Driving past the stadium without a deep sigh Wondering if we should actually see a match sometime Actually seeing a match sometime And what will all that lead to? It will lead to me and Mrs G sitting somewhere in the Northam/Kingsland corner where we had seats 4 years ago, our shiny new season tickets in our hands. I will think back to this day, smile to myself and think " I'm so glad I listened to No7, I like the embryo of what I see too". But that ain't going to happen. I've not spent the last 4 years persuading myself that "I don't really care that much anymore" to throw it all away over a happy clapper's pep talk. I'm in with the neg heads now and I'm happy with that.
I'm thinking this McCarthy Welington THB Stephens Manning Charles Sesay Fraser Armstrong BBD Stewart Think Still likes Adam and knows he is a confidence player and wants to give him minutes
As a dedicated glass-half-full kind of guy, I’d like to mention what I found amusing in the Wrexham performance … after we won of course Will started with no actual No9 and arguably 4 on the bench and too many defenders, consequently we couldn’t score. He then brought 3 No9s on and it resulted in defenders creating and scoring the winning goals (Charles, Manning, Jack) We win AND we learn
That’s him. Irish midfielder. Scored a bunch for the u21s last season and then went on loan to Accrington and scored a few for them. (Joe O’Brien-Whitmarsh)
Didn't Wellington come off with a strain. If so, I don't think he would start. Might be good to get Edwards back out there. 4-3-3/4-2-3-1: McCarthy, Edwards, Stephens, Harwood-Bellis, Manning, Charles, Downes, Fraser, Armstrong, Archer and Stewart.
Really looking forward to this, be a nice ground to tick off the list. Gonna be ****ing scorchio though. High 20s at KO.
Super annoying that this one sold out so quickly as would have loved to have gone to this one. Hope WS fields a strong side and we get through to the next round. I'm going 1-3 COYR
When the draw was made my mind went back to Pardew’s team taking on Northampton in the same cup with a fairly decent lower league striker making his debut. Glad to say I was there in a half empty St Marys when he opened the scoring. Some talk that this chappie - Rickie something - went on to become a legend. So come on, anyone in the team fancy following his path?
Interesting that the only times we've played Northampton this century we've drawn them in both domestic cups in the same season. Maybe we'll welcome them to St Mary's in January.
I'd be ****ing terrible undercover in the home end. In news which will probably surprise no one, my poker face isn't great if/when the game isn't going our way
