Horses for courses, yesterday I'd said smart money is on selling him now even if he is happy to knuckle down and play because he won't be playing 100% and according to reports - we saw how that effected his game end of last season, unlikely he's going to stick his head in where it hurts in a World Cup year so IMHO we should have looked to sell him asap. BUT - if you are being a c.unt and refusing to play, despite your legally binding contract, they you can get to fcuk and rot for 3 seasons.
Im assuming a different point of view. Think there was always an attempt to replace Isak which started with Pedro and since then we’ve failed to do so and had a last minute panic and told him he can’t now go. I get it. I don’t think we’ve handled it well.
Isak will get snapped in half when he plays against us. Especially if it's for Liverpool. Either that or the reaction of the fans will get to him. He's clearly a coward.
It's very simple Newcastle are being bullied into selling a player for 40 million less than his valuation... A player that's threatened the club. I can't for the life of me understand why anyone would give into another business and employee doing that. If they want him pay at least something close to his valuation... If they don't Isak should play... That's it.
Whatever happens whilst we do need to ensure top dollar is paid we need an end to this ****show. I always felt there was much more strength in being able to shift on a player quickly and effectively than worrying about Mexican stand offs with much bigger clubs. We’ve made such a pigs ear out of this summer!
Can't sell for 110 mate.... Liverpool have to pay what he's worth. They don't want to, so they're trying to force Newcastle into doing it. Absolutely no imo...
Long time reader first time poster. Had enough of this Isak saga now. Its very simple in my eyes. Liverpool or whoever pay the fee we want (whatever that may be) Or the club stays strong and Isak stays. It an important moment in time here, I get Liverpool and others are bigger teams than us but we cant roll over and get our bellies tickled because they want our player. The criteria for us to sell must be met before we do. That may be a replacement and a certain fee. Until thats met and the deal is good for the club he stays. Simple as that. But its should also be sorted asap. Phone Liverpool and say this is the fee are you paying it? This is your only chance to sign him this year. If they say no then say dont phone back cos its not happening, then Isak knows they dont value him as we do so he cant move so hes staying at us.
But if Liverpool won't pay what we want then we didn't sell him to them. People are ready to let him rot, which in an ideal world we should, but that then hinders us long term wise. Over last few years we've all wanted the likes of a Lascelles, Miggy, Longstaff etc sold Now a player wants out we suddenly get our Newcastle chip on the shoulder out. **** Isak, sell him and re-invest in the squad.
Yea. At the time, he had a ‘back injury’ but essentially went on strike. https://www.teamtalk.com/news/klopp-responds-to-claims-coutinho-has-gone-on-strike-at-liverpool https://www.express.co.uk/sport/foo...-Coutinho-Liverpool-news-strike-Barcelona/amp https://www.tntsports.co.uk/footbal...o-force-barcelona-move_sto6460881/story.shtml
Welcome to the mad house, great first post. Agree this needs to be sorted asap, and yeah an ultimatum to Liverpool and Isak seems the only way to go at this point, £150m or bust. Issue is then Isak - do you play a players who's going to be stropping and baulking at putting a foot in to 50/50's?
How do you know he was pushed out? He wasn’t getting the game time he wanted so may have been quite happy to go. His transfer may have worked in both parties interests.
Welcome aboard the mad house "had enough of this Isac saga" that's exactly what his agent wants, to piss people off and turn on his client so giving him a way out saying the fans have turned against him he has been badly advised -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- someone said to me at the match on Saturday that Isak is making the decisions 'he's a grown man', I said that was bollox he's taking the advice of his agent who is hell bent on making money and promoting himself I've been in business 42 years and I still employ an accountant and take his advice on Tax matters, so I'm sure Isak is doing the same but is badly let down by the way there is nothing coming out from Newcastle and 99.9% of the ****e posted is exactly that -- ****E
Possibly. Just playing devils advocate and making the point that every single club will force players out that they don’t want. Clearly the club didn’t want him despite giving him a contract that still had time left on it. other examples below allegedly. Carroll was pushed out of Newcastle despite not wanting to leave. Shay Given felt forced out of Newcastle United. He was offered a contract that was less than his existing one, and the club allegedly made it difficult for him to leave unless he signed a transfer request, which would waive a portion of his potential transfer fee I’m not saying it’s bad, it happens at every club. Liverpool push players out they don’t want then they lose players they do (TAA, Coutinho) and fans act all outraged. End of the day, club will survive with out without those players. Just have to make best of the situation. Playing super hardball may look great, but when it comes to future transfers, it may have a knock on. No proof but do you think Sesko/ekitike maybe looked and went, maybe I won’t go to Newcastle because in 2 years if I want to leave for a team competing for league titles they’ll price me out of a move and I won’t be able to go. Now may say great, we only want players that will stay here and not use as a stepping stone, but unfortunately every club is a stepping stone to another with probably exception of Madrid and Barca so just something have to live with.
