It's contractual - Newcastle's HR policy will class certain behaviours as unacceptable. Refusing to do his job is subject to standard misconduct policies. Warning, formal meeting and warning and then gross misconduct allowing termination. But as it's a football contract the contract will likely stipulate that in that scenario the player has to pay compensation to the club equating to their market value. He's royally ****ed himself and he's delusional if he thinks a top club will have him now. Liverpool are probably thinking twice.
Well if it was me I'd sell to Saudi but not to pool. They cannot give in... If he won't go to Saudi I'd look him square in the eye and tell him he's not playing for us ever again until someone offers his valuation.. They'll still get what Liverpool are offering next summer.
Refusing to pay him would mean he has the right that to terminate his contract. Him refusing to play also means the club ca terminate his contract. Unfortunately neither option would be in our favour.
See playing devils advocate - and I’m not saying this is right - but Liverpool may see this as great, he’s so desperate to play for us he’s willing to go on strike, that’s the kind of player we want, someone that only wants us no matter what. Always two ways of looking at things like that. At this stage, and not just saying this because I support Liverpool because we’ve had the same situation with Coutinho surely Newcastle just sell him. If as Howe says PSR is huge issue - despite you putting in 89m bids left right and centre, you sell for 120/130/140, that money allows you to go buy 3/4 players for £50m easily and you strengthen up top and wherever else you need to. Go buy Wissa and Eze. Or Mateta or Savinho or Semenyo. All available at decent prices and make the squad far stronger.
Refusing to play gives grounds to termination for breach of contract. But we can then sue him for compensation - effectively loss of a transfer fee assessed as fair market value.
I think we're ****ed lads.. It's either take the money and lose all self respect or let him sit out the season. I'm really hoping it's the latter, but they'll sell to pool I think.
Thing is I doubt he’d say I’m not going to play. But you’re not going to pick him if he’s walking around in training and when on the pitch just not doing anything - now I doubt would come to that situation but nothing stopping Isak just walking around the pitch in That case. I don’t think would happen as would look a massive twat, but Howe and no manager would surely pick a player that didn’t want to play for that risk as make you look desperate.
Why would you lose all self respect out of interest? Liverpool did same with Coutinho. Sold him to Barca for over 100m as he effectively went on strike. Used that money to buy Alisson and VVD and never looked back.
You say that, but what the last month or so has shown is these "ITK's" such as ornstein, jacobs and the spaghetti monster all post similar things around the same time, as if it's being fed to them by a very specific source that would benefit from this news.... Fab has even admitted that he was a nothing journalist until an agent approached him and asked him to tweet about one of his players, now he makes a living from doing as he's told.
We cant use the money this window. We've had a **** window. Now give us another £150m and what does that do. Inflates everything and we get held to ransom again. No we sell abroad or not at all. Get in Wissa and Isak can rot in the reserves. He comes in when the 1st team arent training , he becomes a ghost to the club. Oh and by the way you want YNWA at St James. No chance and to be honest if I was a Liverpool fan I wouldn't come up to Newcastle for the game. It will be a blood bath in the pubs. You dont understand the level of hate we have now for Liverpool fans.
Just out of interest where some of you guys pissed off at the club for not honouring the contract of local lad Longstaff? Instead forced him out of the club despite agreeing to give him a length of contract and now deciding that didn’t want to honour that and pushed him out the club?
We've come this far with it..... Liverpool aren't restricted by psr and 100 million then is like 170 now. Liverpool want him then pay his valuation... Can't give into this yank ****housery imo.
That’s a myth though. It doesn’t inflate anything. This myth that other clubs won’t know how much Newcastle have to spend is nonsense. Media put out stories about how much money each club can spend to be PSR compliant, don’t think other clubs have similar data? Just because you haven’t sold Isak, doesn’t mean other clubs aren’t expecting it to happen and know you’ll have money. Either way, clubs generally have player valuations. RBL didn’t quote you any more money than they did Manchester United when bidding for Sesko. Same with LFC and Ekititke. Clubs value their players at And negotiate it btw, the fact you’re saying get Wissa in, when he’s done exactly what Isak has done at Newcastle show bit of hypocrisy?
