The cancelled flight was just a massive red herring. In the confusion Isak hopped onto a metro at Central, jumped off at the Stadium station and is currently in room 908 of the Hilton before having his brekkie, doing his medical and signing for SAFC for £50m + £2m add-ons this affer. ITK.
Tbf to him he was promised a big pay rise and it was pulled you would be pissed too if you were promoted more money and then it was pulled
And it seems like they have now offered the money when he has interest from a bigger club and said he wants to go. Which makes the whole situation worse!
Flightradar24, in particular, have seen a rise in downloads and active users, indicating a growing interest in tracking flights, recent downloads are most prominent in the Tyne and Wear region.
Not going to call anyone a liar, they just said a striker was imminent to my knowledge they didn’t drop names fans started putting 2+2 together and we all get carried away from what I saw, no harm done like all part of the fun of the window
Although amusing from our end - the attitude of the player stinks here mind - would be fuming if it was one of our squad
Yep I remember that - at the time I didn't fully agree with KJ approach but this seems to be the way now. Players hold all the cards - especially the good ones!!!
It was that comment "you won't sleep tonight if you knew who it was". I don't know who it is and I still didn't ****ing sleep. Cheers. Probably heat related to be fair, but not the point.
It's one of the concerns I have about our current situation in that we have a number of players who are not in our squad plans, but who have 2 or 3 years left on their contracts. I don't think we've overspent on any one of them, but combined together they represent a significant cost if they just dig their heels in and see it out.Players have an inordinate power in the modern game.
Depends what has been said to him behind the scenes. What promises and assurances he’s been given and if they’ve subsequently been broken as is alleged. The way everything at that club has played out in public this summer suggests they are in total disarray at board level and that the club is, currently, being run farcically so it would be no surprise if they have reneged on things promised to Isak. A contract is really there to protect both parties financially (ie the fact Isak’s has three years to run enables Newcastle to recover adequate compensation from a transfer fee), it’s not a ball and chain tethering the player to the club against their will. Edit: it has been suggested that Isak and his representatives have documentary evidence of the promises made to him that would give him a very good case and could get very messy for Newcastle if they’re overly obstructive (I personally wouldn’t include holding out for the fee agreed in that).
In other news it looks like where the Black Cats Bar entrance was at the SoL is now going to be a pie and mash type shop.
Whats happening with Isak can go two ways, It could destroy the harmony and collective in the squad and alert other players that any of them wanting to look at something fresh away from the Mags will be difficult. Alternatively ...it could gel the entire club and actually make them stronger... Not long to find out which it is
