Wouldn't count on it with the source being HDM, but apparantly we are after a goal scorer (probably Billy Sharp), a central defender (cover for Chester and Hobbs, possibly Matt Killgallon from Sunderland), but Barmby doesn't want a midfielder, as Oli and Pusic will be back very soon along with Brady. Probably not true but hay ho!

The most obvious one is defensive cover for Chester and Hobbs, he's right about the midfield, maybe need another winger as Brady could be heading back to United at the beginning of January. Another prolific striker next to Fryatt would make us so dangerous, and we was lacking firepower in the first part of the season.

Why "probably Billy Sharp"? I can't see Billy Sharp leaving Doncaster anytime soon after the way the club has helped him through his difficult past few months unless the club decide they don't want him which I don't think is likely.

in nicky barmby i trust. whoever NB has now got Adam Pearson chasing after, is fine by me. just as long as its not Killgallon ? ffs, spend whatever money is available on an out and out goal scorer. City dont need defenders unless Gerrard is on his way back for a small amount. Cooper and McShane are good enough cover for Hobbs and Chester.

We can't afford him, he's worth at least £3m.

I thought Billy Sharp was a targetman type striker, but he's only 5' 9". I also rate him, but wouldn't he be too similar to what we already have?
I would have thought we need a younger, faster Adebola type to give the team an extra attacking dimension.

Billy Sharp would walk in to any team in this league @ the min so yes he is similar to Fryatt but that partnership is mouth watering! saying that I would be very surprised if we see Billy in a city shirt.

There are no fast Adebola type players!

Matt Tubbs of Crawley Town is a similar player to Nicky Lambert and would be worth a punt at not alot of money.

I would suggest that at some point Billy Sharp will want to leave Donny so that he can move on in his life as Doncaster is a constant reminder. Adam Pearson also has a very good relationship with John Ryan @ Donny, so you never know what deal could be agreed.

Heard a rumour that TC could go to Donny in part-exchange. I rate Billy Sharp but honestly think we could spend the money better by getting a different type of striker in. Still, I wouldn't complain.

Matt Tubbs isn't going to be a Championship striker. He's your classic lower league goal poacher. i think he'd score goals in League One but that's his limit.

I said when we bought McLean that we should've gone for Steve Morison, I still wish we had.

How on earth could you possibly know that???

I know you're the eternal optomist but that's just making stuff up. Doncaster really supported him and his wife through his rough patch, he'll want to repay that as he's a decent fair young lad. He's said in a few interviews he wants to repay Doncaster for helping him through too.
It'll be 100% up to Doncaster if he leaves them, if they recieve an offer they're happy with (which will have to be upwards of £3m) they'll accept, if not they won't accept and he'll stay until the next window when it starts again.

From first hand experience. Without going into details a mate of mine lost his 2 children in a car accident. Both he and his wife eventually moved on in there lives by changing everything. They moved house and changed there car as by staying as they were was a constant reminder of what they once had. There are also many other instances of people who have had to do similar things. By changing certain things in your life does ease the pain as time moves on.
