We'd be just like Saudi Arabia, but without the camels.

Don't they know that going forward, any government provided assistance, payments, pensions, support will cease to exist ?? If their culture set in and they took over, it will just become like their previous country of origin and a failed collapsed society.. no benefits, no change.

It's heartening to see Government Ministers leading by example...

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/czerl5dy0kgo

    Or maybe not <doh>
I don't suppose Ms Ali has ever been homeless, or will ever be in danger of being so.
It's comforting to be rich, isn't it.

    EDIT:

The Homelessness Minister has now resigned.
And rightly so. Her bland statement earlier that she had "fully complied with the law" was frankly insulting.
Plenty of unscrupulous landlords fully comply with the law as it stands now, telling tenants to get out, then re-marketing their old homes at hiked rental rates.
When the new law comes into force that will become illegal.
So far from giving any moral leadership whatsoever, the ex-Minister simply decided to rake in some cash before the law changes.

So much for a Government of integrity Mr Starmer.
This kind of thing is exactly why people are thoroughly sick to death of Labour & Tory politics.
Neither Party can be trusted., They both just feather their own nests when in power.

Does any part of the UK have the Muslim prayer to call broadcast out of mosques yet ? Or this hasn't come to fruition ?

    Not in Ealing.

We have some beautiful Hindu Temples in West London, but I don't think they go in for calls to prayer.
Can't remember the last time I heard Church bells either sadly. I guess you have to live out in the Countryside to hear those on a Sunday.

Ive been to Turkey, and i must say their was something mystifying in a good way about hearing it in Istanbul.

But recently in a strong Muslim suburb in Sydney, Mosques requested through council to be able to signal the call to prayer in that locality and suburb, it was rejected. But I imagine they will not cease requesting this. Something like this is 100% a no no in my opinion. That's to far, and says it all about overall and future intentions of the community.

To clarify, this is when mosques are equipped with loudspeakers Atop the mosque and it is broadcast across the surrounding suburb, city.

    I'm a little confused.
You object to the call to prayer being broadcast using loudspeakers? Or you object to hearing it at all.

Personally I think speakers is kind of cheating.
I thought traditionally it was supposed to be a human voice, as it was for Centuries.
I wouldn't be very happy about church bells being broadcast over speakers either. Not that it happens as far as I'm aware, except in the US perhaps.

If you don't like the sound of the call to prayer, fair enough. You're entitled to that view.
Personally I wouldn't mind it, as long as it was not heard too early or too late. Maybe only between 8am and 8pm would be OK.
Not through loudspeakers though. It should be a natural sound, and where I live I think it would be fairly distant.
Cultural diversity in modern life isn't something I'm uncomfortable with.

Mmmm might he some confusion here. The call to prayer is more and more assisted with loudspeakers, so if it's was in a mosque several hundred meters away, all surrounding homes and people are hearing this. Just google it and u will see. Nothing offensive about it, I am not racist or against other cultures (ex wife was a Tehran born Iranian, current wife is born and bred chinese) .. i just wanted to know if Mosques in the Uk were using call to prayer this way as it isn't a small thing, its like broadcasting across the suburbs, and if u imagine their is a mosque every so and so kilometres etc, it isn't exactly subtle.
Its 5 times a day, first at 6am, so get ur crumpets and tea ready !
