How we feeling? a week to go.
Pre season is over next time we kick a ball its at Elland road against Everton in the Premier League looking for 3 points.
Personally think we would have had alot more done by now.
Farke said hes happy with how pre season has gone and going unbeaten you can read positives but Monday onwards its going to be a different kettle of fish.
We know, the club knows we are still short on quality in certain area's on the pitch.
Bogle is still touch and go to return if he doesn't make it Everton know exactly where to hurt us,
Surely if Bogle isn't fit to start we surely have to bring some sort of cover in at right back before Everton.
We look toothless still up top and it's not really a place to be in 1 week before a season starts.
Life is going to be a struggle even with every signing in but going into the season even further down that ladder surely needs attention asap.
This is not a league you can play catch up in, there's to much quality. we have to hit the ground running.
    As on my own question
    How am I feeling?
Excited .Happy football is back. but, quite honestly I'm absolute shyting myself as we still seem 3-4 players short.
1 week can change many things but at this moment I think we are not where we should be,

Like you worried that we haven’t done enough. My hope is that by the time the window closes we will have sourced a top striker and at least an upgrade on Solomon and full back cover. If we dont my apprehension about having no real recruitment department besides a scout and the Academy Director will be a fact. We have done great with the keeper, with Gudmundson, with Stach and Bijol but the rest are not upgrades just squad members for the bench. So bringing in just 4 upgrades won’t be enough we need another 2 or 3 at least.

    Im pretty calm about things.

Even without anyone coming in for Monday, we have enough to beat Everton. Its not a given but at ER under the lights it's an incredibly tough game for Everton.

We'll lose at Arsenal and Newcastle will be tough at home. 3 points from the first 3 games would be okay. That takes us to the end of the transfer window and it's likely we have 2 or 3 new signings in for the September games against Fulham, Wolves and Bournemouth.

I’m more concerned about the huge weakness at RB, I just hope Byram can last 90 minutes. Funny things happen, Harrison on the left and scores, Everton fans will be fearing that.

Ramazani can also claim it as his own, Everton is winnable, I was sure we’d bring in someone last week, I just hope the clubs confidence of getting their first choices is justified

I’m surprised we’ve not been linked with more AM or #10s we don’t seem to have much ongoing in the pipeline, mysteriously quiet

Relieved we got Stach over the line

Opinion of a silly old man here. We’ve enough already to stay up. This looks better than Bielsas team that was promoted. Stach is incredible. Think keeper is too

Schmidt is one up from useless by all accounts, Farke has already agreed for him to leave when a replacement is found. Bogle looks like being out for a long time, that leaves us Byram who is supposedly cover for RB and LB, we’re woefully short in the FB positions

All quiet on Hamer but we know Hamer will be leaving. Worried we get Buendia because Villa want him gone….

Think it will be a 1 - 1 draw on Monday night. I see Grealish is going on loan to Everton. Hopefully won't feature Monday.

The Hamers, Ben Doaks and Josh Sargents of the footballing world will be there for us if we can't get others over the line.

How can a pro player be over weight?. It reminds of the yank burger boy a few seasons back. Do they not have nutrition guidance at his club.

Made me laugh that. I do think that Pep loves to feck with England players. England's then no 1 keeper, Hart career went into decline, England's player of the tournament at the Euros, Philips, the same. Now Grealish. Although with Grealish his off field stuff didn't help. Hate his diving, but has talent. His recognition of kids with disabilities when at pitch side or collecting medals, when other players walk on by is great to see. Agree though one of those opposition players you love to hate and has the villa background too :emoticon-0146-punch

From what I’ve seen of Foden you can add him to the list of England players who have gone into decline under Pep.

And he’s a proper **** off the pitch too.

He won the treble, some failure. Unfortunately he then went on the piss the entire summer to celebrate, came back at not the right fitness level and got injured. His days were up with Pep after that, Pep simply wasn’t tolerate it.

Nothing unfortunate about it. For the money they’re paying him they probably expected him to act more professionally.

Jack Grealish earns £300,000 per week at Manchester City, according to The Athletic. This equates to an annual salary of £15.6 million,

A bit late to the party, like most I would be happier if we had got a couple of strikers in, but unlike most posters here I’m not fussed if they’re considered marquee by the majority. Brentford/Bournemouth and Brighton seem to discover pretty much unknowns who go onto become extremely solid PL players - I’d be more than happy with that.

Don’t see the point of even viewing the clickbait sites. It’s mostly irrelevant crap, because we are no longer a big fish, so most of the players we’re linked with are never gonna come here. That’s not being defeatist, just realistic.

Think we’ll do ok, but we need maybe 3 extra bodies minimum. My only interest this season is to stay up. If we finished midway that’d be outstanding.

Roll on a week today when my nerves’ll be off the chart.
