You were reported to UEFA on the basis of singing pro IRA songs in the game against Rennes. UEFA have charged Celtic due to "illicit chants" during the game against Rennes. Can you put 2+2 together? Do you think UEFA have charged you for something other than what you were reported for?
I vehemently disagree. I have aleays said that I am happy to revisit my position if and when Celtic are punished. As soon as i find out what we are punished for, i will revisit that position. I won't have you, or anyone else railroad me with vague notions. Do you understand that position? Do. You accept it is not unreasonable? Celtic arent appealing the decision - so we'll never know. None the less i think we'll leave it up to supporters common sence what is isnt relevant to sing at a football match
The fact that UEFA have fined a club but not made clear what the fine is for, is stupid and worrying. But, we know the kind of songs and chants that aren't wanted at Celtic Park. We've been told by the manager and board often enough. It's not rocket science. I'm unclear what Rebel's level of understanding of this situation is when he likes to start posts with "Explain to me......" There is no need to explain to anyone unless they are mentally deficient or being wilfully obtuse. The fact is that the club don't want it as it harms the clubs image and reputation. It might also harm it's finances. £12k isn't a huge amount of dosh, but it goes a long way to pay someone's wages at Celtic Park.
I understand your objections. I dont understand why we should be given the same consideration as the Huns. I am not being obtuse, i just don't get it, or see how it is relevant.
OK, if I understand you correctly, and I might not, your opinion remains that 'rebel songs' including those that mention the IRA explicitly remain a legitimate part of the celtic songbook. The fact that we have been fined for 'illicit chanting' which has been specifically described as 'pro-IRA' by those who reported us in the first place is insufficient for you to even reconsider your position because you feel that the reason for the fine has not been made sufficiently clear. Anyway, no I don't accept that as particularly reasonable. Quite the opposite in fact
My position is that rebel songs are acceptable anywhere. My position is that this result suits Celtic plc down to the ground. My position is that This is entirely driven by the police abd scottish legislators to add credence to their ailing bill. My position is that it is entirely unreasonable for uefa not to detail the allegations and the mechanisms for achieving their result.
Celtic's position is that they will not appeal, therefore the charge stands and the club have been fined. I don't think that it can be any clearer that pro-IRA songs or chants are unacceptable. Welcome to the 21st century, Rebel.
Any songs about the IRA, any songs which mention the IRA, any songs which glorify the IRA have no place at a football ground. UEFA have my 100% support.
Shows how much you really know about Scottish politics the SNP doesn't need any support to pass the bill they have a majority which means its likely to be passed. Hardly ailing is it you dumb ****.
the bill doesn't have popular support and has been torn apart by some very clever people. I think it is fair to say it is ailing.
Considering its gonna get passed its not ailing, you talk some pish honestly rebel. In fact ill place a wager with you right now, 100 quid says it gets passed.
what about anything i have said.... Ever gave you the impression that I believed that this intellectually bankrupt bill would not pass?
