Yesterday was our 3rd defeat of the season and unfortunately we didnt get the 3points we deserved.

Yes 3 penalty decisions one resulting in what should have been a red card went against Spurs but hopefully we can get our fair share of luck going in future fixtures.

The players should be out to prove a point with this fixture, but I think that Sunderland's confidence might have been repaired a little by their win.
If we can get an early lead then I'd expect their heads to drop, to be honest, but this is now a very important fixture.
    I hope that King's back.

Well it's pretty much a 'must win' if we are to keep up our charge for the top 4. We'll be without Kaboul, so have to hope King is fit.

Also we have an away game in Ireland, and I trust that not one of our 'first XII' apart from Kaboul will be on the plane there.

All we have to do is put a calendar in the away dressing room saying it's April. MON's teams always run out of steam by the end of March...

In your 'first XII' are you including the ref as its our turn to have him after yesterday?

I said this in my thread yesterday - the Sunderland match is another banana skin waiting to happen. Sunderland are on the up at the moment - in a honeymoon period with MON at the helm and going into our game off the back of a good win against a Blackburn side who should be higher up the table than they really are.

Over the whole 90 yesterday, we weren't bad - we were definitely sub-par in the first half though. However, at home as we are against Sunderland, I'd expect us to come out of the blocks far quicker than yesterday and, on paper at least, we have a team capable of beating Sunderland with ease.

All said and done, we underestimate Sunderland at our peril because it's Chelsea afterwards and all of a sudden it could be a December to forget.

It could be a bad time to play Sunderland with the new manager factor, and O`Neill will get them organised. We have more than enough to win easily, but I wont be surprised if Blunderland take a result.

:) no, but it would be nice.

I'm including JD actually. I think this is a game for PAv, GDS and Kane and good luck to them.

i don't think Sunderland have the quality to beat us at whl, could be different if we were away,i ithink we will win aslong as we have a ref,not someone inpersonating one

We will get 3 points against Sunderland. I'm confident of it.

Dont be to confident. Our squad has under performed all season. While player for player you have a better squad than we do MON has given Sunderland a boost and the confidence was clear in the second half against Blackburn so this will not be as easy as many of you might think.

I would be more than happy if we get a draw.

I don't think our players will be too confident. If anything I fear the reverse, that the hammering we took from the gods of 'anti-football' on Sunday, including the men in black, may have knocked our confidence down.

When you've suffered the sort of moral injustice we have, there are many ways to react.

In sport one of the best reactions is to use that injustice as fuel for righteous indignation and do even better than you'd been doing before you were so horribly 'mugged'. Let's hope Spurs can do this (from a Spurs' perspective :)

But remember we have Kaboul unfairly missing this game, and a game in Ireland before Sunderland. A game where we exit Europe almost certainly, how that will go down I'm not sure. Effectively we're now chasing one trophy, the FA Cup.

It's all a bit of a mess ATM, next Sunday will tell us so much more.

I would rather have your mess than where we are LOL But MON will put that right over the next 18 months. I think he could be our Harry

Fair comments Washy :) I support Spurs through thick and thin (and it's mainly been 'thick' over the last trophy-laden and proper football playing 52 years I've been following the team).

But short-term, it is a tricky one for us, almost all Prem games are TBH.

I just pray we don't let our beautiful football be upset by what happened last Sunday, and we're back to winning ways this Sunday.

I don't think many of us are expecting anything out of this other than competing strongly and showing more confidence.

But if you look at our goal difference you'll see that we've lost a lot of very narrow games and thrown points away by being ****-scared and panicky in the closing minutes... I think O'Neill will get this sorted and he's already starting to play people that Bruce bought but didn't use... and some of them have the potential to be solid premier league players.

We still lack proper goalscoring power since Bent went to Villa 'to improve his chances of an England place' or so he says Capello told him (don't see much of a future there for him when 'Arry takes the helm) and Gyan made one of the most bizarre loan moves I've ever seen.

So... away to a top 4 club I'd take your hand off for a point but for sure poorer squads than ours will turn you over this season at some point so... here's hoping! :emoticon-0102-bigsm

And yet we've only conceded the same number of goals as your defence this season... but our lack of a stike force should till see you okay I agree.

If you look at sunderlands team, its pretty much full of nothing players, players that if they retired tomorrow then no one would really care, add that to the fact their manager is highly annoying - overall you can tell I don't have much time for their club.

Does that mean we should win? No

Does it mean i'm confident? No

Why? because this is football and I know spurs only too well that I just hope we get two positive results against Sunderland & Chelsea, otherwise things won't look so positive.
