So this is what it feels like to wake up after a win. I like it.

For me, Jack takes MOTM yesterday for his goal and his tackle but overall I agree, Shea was outstanding.

Yeah, it was quite interesting that out of our 3 CBs yesterday, Stephens was the only one that was solid and reliable all game. Edwards had an absolute shocker and Quarshie made a few mistakes too.

Quarshie reminds me a little of of Kyle Walker in that he is pretty crap technically but his pace and power make up for it.

Couldn’t watch the game, but a great result and reminiscent of the last promotion season which was littered with last minute winners/equalizers.

Appreciate highlights are far from the complete picture, but the Wrexham goal had a bit of a charmed life. I don’t think Coady knew too much about his goal line clearance. Some of the build up play looked really good too.

Manning reminded me of Johnny Wilkinson when lining up his free kick, great stuff.

Yeah of the three, Jack showed he was the one with all the experience. Maybe the other two will come good. I still have high hopes for Edwards but maybe the occasion got the better of him yesterday. I think though that THB walks straight back into that team when he’s ready.

Stephens in the mix too. Made a couple of big tackles, and doubled up as a striker when it mattered.

Aside from giving away the penalty (which I appreciate had a big impact), I didn't think Edwards was anywhere near as bad as many people are saying.

I was more concerned about Quarshie, who looks like he has a few mistakes in him and misplaced/overhit some passes. We're all rightly praising that late save from Bazunu, but it wouldn't have been needed if Quarshie hadn't messed up first.

A bit harsh blaming Quarshie for failing to control a hospital pass at waist height…

With Quarshie's height and pace, I did wonder yesterday whether it was possible for him to get on the end of his own looping long throw.

It wouldn't be legal, of course, but it kept me amused for a good 2 minutes whilst we had a period of passing it sideways.

Have we had anyone with a decent long throw since Delap ? Thinking of Salisu make me cringe !

Yeah I'm with you. Edwards for me is technically better and looks a safer bet at the moment. I said my criticisms of Quarshie yesterday, so today I'll mention the positives. His passion is refreshing; the fist pumps and high fives clearly resonate with teammates and fans. I reckon he is a big character in the dressing room and he has the qualities to be a fan favourite. And he is clearly going to be a big threat from set pieces.

I think he's going to be very good one day. Very raw at the moment, so either he learns from experience, or he gets the right coaching. Looks like a decent signing considering the low fee. A bit like Salisu, but with a much better attitude.

I was going to post a similar comment about the Johnny Wilkinson thing. It was the eyes for me. He seemed to be envisioning the ball trajectory, much like Wilkinson used to.

Although it wasn’t a fantastic display we won. We showed character to get that result.
If you looked at the stats alone and hadn’t seen the match you would wonder why we hadn’t scored 5.
    We are a funny bunch

Yep I saw the eyes too. The keeper’s positioning almost suggested he didn’t trust the wall because he was quite central so to beat him from there was outstanding for me. As good as any JWP free kick.

Can’t remember who but someone posted that we offered no threat. That is not true. We offered threat but just didn’t apply the finish. The shooting was more akin to back passing and were hit straight at the keeper. Poor finishing but we did carry some threat.

More entertainment in yesterday's game than I the whole of last season.

I think it was far from perfect bit it was a better result than I envisaged. I still thi k it will be a slow recovery process but signs for optimism yesterday.
