I'll be honest when I saw our probable first team play today , instead of tomorrow at home, I was disappointed. However, I think I can now see the clubs logic. Play the decent players tomorrow that are available for loan or transfer at home with probable more scouts attending to secure the a move if they prove their fitness/
Might finally see a 4-4-2 with Guiu and Abdullahi up top. Not sure how ELF would react to being shunted to the left wing though. I’d love RLB to try him deeper and let him play alongside Neil. Maybe put Jones ahead for workrate and stick with the usual shape. Happy to bin poor Alan Browne off though
Happy to leave Dan Neil on the bench and send him clear message of sign, leave or spend the year in the reserves. It’s time this was sorted out. Feel harsh saying at as he is one of our own and captain last year but loyalty cuts both ways.
Quite looking forward to this, players with a chance to impress the coaches, hopefully Patto, Rigg and Wilson get some much needed minutes as well. Then a chance to see Guiu and possibly Masuaku if the paperwork is all done.
I wasn't sure if Masuaku could play as a trialist today? Probably not because of WPs but be great if he got some minutes today
So line maybe something like this: Patterson, Huggins, Trantis, Johnson, Maduake Neil, Le Fee Roberts, Browne/Rigg, Aleksic/Wilson Guiu/Abdullah **** knows
2-2, late equaliser for us. Anyone know if Sam's Bar on West Sunniside is opening today? My preferred pre and post match watering hole.
He comes across well - mature, very genuine. Extra points for not getting annoyed when the interviewer asked him essentially the same question 4 times….
Looks like Patto and Isidor are back but no Riggy https://x.com/sunderlandafc/status/1954540808998154580?s=46
