There are losses and gains without APR, but I’ll take the risk for the sake of football. Hideous long pauses do nothing for the game.
They just asked general stuff about what I thought was going to happen today and what I know about Wrexham? At this point I so wanted to say “who?” but I resisted and gave heart and head predictions (win and a draw). They also asked if I knew any Wrexham players - i said I was worried about Keiffer Moore because he always scores against us. With such incisive punditry, I’m bound to be on!!
Good man. I have a soft spot for Wrexham. Was engaged to a girl on a village outside of Wrexham.in 1992. They were buzzing because they brat Arsenal in the cup in 1992 in a replay. Micky Thomas was playing at age of 37.
Had two really good chats with Wrexham fans today, both were optimistic about the season and I asked them both what a good season looks like for them. Both said playoffs. The chat with away fans is way better in the EFL. Real fans. All round top day today.
There speaks someone who has never been to Wrexham. I suspect it was their intellectual elite who turned up today. Just back from picking up a granddaughter from work in Chester. The City Centre is not a place to be on a Saturday night. Loads of Wrexham boys in for a night out. Now they’re scary. I am delighted with the result. I know a lot of Chester based Wrexham fans and they’ve been giving me grief since the fixtures came out. Perversely I’m even more pleased that we did it in that way. Thanks, Jack. I’ve been a fan of his since that win in the League Cup at Anfield when he was immense.
There was another Newcastle one where MLT whacked one in at the death. Can't remember the year, but 93 maybe?
Incredible day in the end, good point, but f*ck me that performance was awful. I will of course hold full judgement until the window closes, but that performance was dreadful. Will Still playing an attacking threat of Armstrong, Fraser, Robinson then Sugawara and Wellington as wing back is genuinely embarrassing. I've never seen such a lightweight bunch pretending to offer something going forwards. I have no idea what Still actually wants the team to do but whatever it is, we need a big upheaval in the next few weeks. Hopefully we were only so **** because it takes time to get his way of playing across and also because he needs his own players. In short, fantastic 3 points but very worrying for the season ahead.
I really like him. You can see he doesn't really want to do all the media stuff, he just wants to coach and win football games. He's so down to earth and without ego. Long may it last.
I've been to Wrexham a couple of times. Love Wales, especially the North. Doesn't make what I said untrue though. There was a sizeable number of scruffs in their end today and at least one of them thought it was clever to lob coin/s.
Massively disagree that is was awful. It was a bit disjointed, and there's clearly a lot of cohesion/learning that needs to happen, but it was a long way from being dreadful. We had more shots in that game than any game we played last season. We'll be fine once it settles down after the window and things start to click.
Good man. Right at he death. Wevhad the better of Newcastle then. I think it was the Merri to. Or Souness era, those guys who did not rate Letissier. Always found that strange when Merrington was his youth coach
Of course. Some have more than others though and they fall in that category based on what I saw today. Not sure if it's normal for them or whether it was just a big away day for them and a few can't handle their beer/gear. Coincidentally our next two home games also come against clubs in that category in Stoke and the Skates.
Today was very much one of those moments too. In a way I hate using the term but it was the proper definition of limbs where I was. Been a long time since I celebrated a goal like that.
Almost none of those shots actually threatened, but that is beside the point. Of course it was better than last season - our opposition today was league 1 last year and we were supposedly Premier league. I thought we were shocking. We offered no threat whatsoever. We controlled the game but did nothing with it... a little familiar. Hopefully we will have a drastically different 11 and squad once transfers and fitness are out the way. All we can do for now is give the manager and board time to get it right, especially with the window still open, but big changes better happen between now and the end of the window or we will not be anywhere close to automatics.
Mate. I watched on t.v. so can't really comment. But in.my experience all clubs have a fair share of total that's us included. I have a soft spot for Stoke too. But happy to join you in taking the skates down
