OK I'm not going to say my whinging at the start wasn't warranted (because it was, they were ****e) but I forgot how good it feels to actually win a game at home. That free kick was an absolute peach and to bundle home the worlds scruffiest goal in the last seconds was pure bliss. I'm pretty sure that's the latest winner I've witnessed in person. I thought Baz had a great game (he's still very loved in the Lincoln household) but in particular his distribution today was excellent lots of quick quality balls out to feet to start play. Robinson looked decent and obviously lovely to see Matty if only for a cameo. Regardless of the quality a win is a win. 3 huge ****ing points there. Well in
Going way back to 1995, losing 1-0 to Newcastle at the Dell, ran out 3-1 winners after equalising in the 86th minute. Goals by Neil Heaney, Gordon Watson and Neil Shipperley. Managers were Whispering Dave Merrington and one Kevin Keegan. I was there, under the East stand, towards the Milton end.
Yeah that game was incredible. Was front row in the Archers, exactly where the players came to celebrate.
Time to confess: who left the game early? (Sorry if already asked- too lazy to go through the whole thread)
In other news, me and my lad were interviewed on camera for the Netflix documentary. The game is being featured in season 5 episode 1.
I was there in the East Stand and met some mates who were in another stand in the Cricketers after the game Bought a round and they then revealed that they had both put money on 3-1 and won a monkey. Tight bastards
That save will do Gav's confidence the world of good. - pleased for the lad. Was expecting it to be a nervy affair and it delivered, but fitness and subs won the day - 3 points to kick off the season is ****ing mint.
Why would you feel sorry for them? Although we weren’t brilliant we dominated possession not in a “let’s keep the ball at all cost” and loads more shots. If we’d tried to miss the goal keeper with our chances we could have won by more
Just saw this on YouTube. The winner from the Northam. https://youtube.com/shorts/Qo8n7qGR9LY?si=VfkAxvUsZdP5GjwA
