It looks as if Still has already had an impact on our fitness levels. Even with the 5 subs we still had players who were fitter than Wrexham’s, unless they were playing the cramp card just to disrupt our flow.

I think that despite how the commentators tried to swing it (and wow did they try), Wrexham didn’t actually have much in the locker, especially when their giant went off injured.

Our defence restricted them to speculative shots which only 2 were on target (with 1 being the penalty presumably?!) and then when they realised we were growing in the game, they sat 11 behind the ball.

It was certainly ugly in places until Still seemed to find a formation that clicked, but if that is how we can grind out wins against defensive teams this season, I’m all for it.

I also agree with a couple of others that Charles was very good and played confidently on the ball. He’s come on leaps and bounds since we put him out on loan last season.

Just back and read through the whole thread. Hilarious. I love this type of game where I only read knowing the result lol.

Atmosphere was a bit (well very) quiet, but to be expected really. We go 1-0 down after the dross of last year and the fans revert to type. Thought the last 10 mins of normal time the fans picked up as the team did.

I actually thought we deserved that. I thought every player had an ok game. I’m not saying that because of the result, I said it at half time too.

Fraser and Armstrong did their best - Arma is not a lone striker. Fraser is good at this level.

The back 3 looked good as it is early days, the wingbacks pushed on. Midfield tidy without being amazing.

Manning did literally change the game. His energy was amazing…but step aside JWP that was a stupendous free kick.

Once I knew there was 6 mins left I just sensed something good was going to happen.

Limbs after Captain Jack’s strike. Lost my voice now. Forgot about my bad foot too and jumped up and down far far too much.

EDIT: Forgot to mention Baz’s save. Top drawer. I said as soon as he did it that if we get anything out of the game it is thanks to him.

Watching Manning's free kick back and it was even better than I thought. A good distance out and straight into the side netting.

Genuinely top class, JWP would have been proud of that.

Think that's the first direct FK we've scored since he left?

Didn’t Bree or even Manning do one in the cup?

One for the stattos here, when did we last win a game with two goals so late on?

The only one I can recall is Lambert's double penalty at Millwall but think the first was quite a bit earlier than today.

Bree might have actually. Think that's Manning's first goal.

Yeah fair. It must sound so different in the Northam, but from Chapel the sound doesn’t travel at all.

Atmosphere is a two-way thing. The game needs atmosphere to give it energy and the atmosphere needs energy in the game to get it pumping. Our fans just need something positive to get behind.

Strange from the manager when he scored and created one
Changed a defeat to a win

At the moment, we are the only side to prevent a newly promoted side from getting a point. All three have led their games.

This is getting weird. We are the only side to prevent a newly promoted side getting any points.

Birmingham got a point. Charlton look like getting 3.
