I ask because we had a BBC television presenter walking about here and making a television program and I think she was Julia Bradbury. She was pregnant but it was not me.

Fair chance it could have been her , unless it was a news reporter waiting for one of your volcanoes to erupt.

Weather update - Sun is now up and the clouds have gone, so a bright sunny morning in West West London.

I rather like the TV programmes that Julia Bradbury makes....

Morning all, managed to get my car to the garage yesterday with a combination of high revs and good handbrake skills. Basically the car has a serious flat spot with revs and kept stalling if kept too low. Just waiting for the garage to call me back and let me know what's wrong and how badly my wallets is about to be assaulted for. :(

Sandy , is it petrol or diesel , My first thought there would be blocked (dirty) airfilter causing poor carburation ! which would give the those symptoms!

1.9 Diesel, had a look at some forums and the symptoms have something to do with the EGR valve. If it's easy to fix I'll get it done and then try and part ex it for something smaller. It was given to me by a family member, my commute to work is only a tiny 15 mile round trip. Suspect that it's just getting clogged up as not doing any decent mileage.

Thanks Norway for the Luther link. Great to hear Luther and GT recalling the rise and rise of Watford.

Afternoon all. Was a gorgeous sunny morning just outside of Watford this morning, but it didn't take long for the rain to come pouring down..stopped now though but the wind is strong and apparently there's worse to come later. When is summer??!

If it helps Sandy, my son's car broke down last night. Just the battery but we don't have jump leads so i had to take him to a job interview, then head to my mum's coz she has jump leads. We get home to find one of the clamps is broken but Hornette can be ingenious at times and i managed to get the car started by holding it precariously on the battery! But this morning, it won't start again, despite him giving it a run last night, so....off to the garage today to see if it's a new battery or a new alternator...i hope it's the battery! That answers one of my problems though, what to get him for Chanukah! lol

    I completely sympathise!

    Um...hellooooooooo! ;)

Looking forward to listening to that very soon, thanks Norway :)

Been hoping for some better weather this afternoon, but I think the wind and rain are with us for the rest of the day. Still having seen that the ferries are disrupted due to bad weather I am glad that we arrived back when we did. It would appear from what I read in the French newspapers that Seafrance will be no more. The two companies that had put in a joint bid to buy the company have withdrawn their offer and the region and union joint bid could only raise €15m out of the €50m required. It will be interesting to see if a new company will start up on the Dover-Calais route without taking on the Seafrance debt or if P&O will have the crossing all to itself.

If P&O get a monopoly sure as eggs is eggs the price to cross will rise sharply!

Afternoon all. Its rather windy here. Last night all you could hear was the xmas lights knocking on the window, it got rather irritating at 4:00 this morning so i called it a day and went to bed. Its my washing day today so there is plenty to be doing.
