This is not working. Needs changes at half time, Edward’s looks rattled since having given away the penalty and Moore is taking advantage of his inexperience. Need a proper centre forward on…just annoys me that we have to wait until half time for that given EVERY Saints fan knew Armstrong through the middle doesn’t work and ESPECIALLY if you want to put balls into the box. So frustrating.
Last 10 minutes of the half were much better. Annoying they brought in some really big names and got them all playing today, as without Moore and Coady we would be winning comfortably.
I and those around me were booing the ref. Not sure how it looks on tv but feels like we are getting nothing from the ref. Wrexham looked like they were tiring there and I think they'll can be got at. Keeping the faith. Feels like we should take off one of the back 3 for Fernandes and that Archer could be handy too.
In game one 1 of a 46 game season, with a squad that's going to change slot before September 1st. The first 5 games of any season are for bedding in and getting up to speed.

Should be a few down really with the chances they’ve had so only being 1 down isn’t the end of the world. Definitely need to change things up though.
New season , same old ****e Slightly improved towards the end and were a bit unlucky not to score tbf. Could have done without half time really but overall very poor. Very predictable in possession and look terrified when they have the ball. Edwards has been awful and Quarshie looks very raw. Matty has to come on. Absolutely zero creativity which we all know is an issue of course. Still think we can come back and win this but we'll have to be loads better. Really don't think they're anything special we've just been dreadful.
If more direct means we've hoofed it constantly to the smallest players on the pitch then yeah we've done a lot of that.
I think people read into the first games tactics far too much. We improved a lot during the last 10 mins of the half as players started to actually pass and move. Hard to gauge tactics when the team isn't settled and it's the first game at "full" speed.
When we've played the ball into space outside it's worked well. No idea why we started to hoof the ball into Armstrong to battle Coady for the ball.
Agree about the creativity, but was always going to happen with Downes and Charles as the midfielders. Think just taking one of the front three off for Stewart would make us 10 times better as we can then play off him so creativity isn’t as much of an issue
Go to a 4-2-3-1 ... Edwards off, Matty on. Would stop the constant harassment of our defensive channels by having FBs there and also give us more creativity further forward
